Ok.. in AOI2 the professor asks two cameo characters to get a turn in asking the machine.. Katrina and Zanthor/Xanthor.. are these references to something existing?.. (the names Katrina and Zanthor appear in She-Ra and He-Man episodes respectively, but I don't think that they are these Katrina and Zanthor).

I'm not sure, but I think you may have just answered your own question.

Well I was watching Bend Her earlier and Bender(or more correctly Coilette) was getyting ready for her first date with Calculon and Fry says "What if he wants to...what if he tries to...uh...Barry White?"

I just one of the jokes I didn't get.

(Best read in a deep bass voice):

Barry White plays seductive, sexual music, baby.  The kind you can play in the background while you get it on.  Oh, yeah.

Well, you know what Barry White's music generally is about and used for, right?  flirt If so, you can see why it's an appropriate metaphor on Fry's part.

Meh.

Not quite right my friend.. both those suffixes come from the greek language. -itis usually describes something that suffers a disease.. so bonitis would just be a disease of the bones.. -lysis means "solution" but also "untying" or "bringing things apart"..

and yes.. I'm greek.. =)

It's a play on the name of an American donut chain, Dunkin' Donuts.

Eh, fair enough. I just thought there might be more to it than simply 'coz it sounds similar. You even had Dinkins' mug on the logo.

My favourite was pi-kea, although that had 3 or 4 jokes about Ikea attached to it so it probably doesn't count. Still one of my favourite jokes in the whole series though.  laff

Okay so I just saw Farnsworth Parabox again and I've heard this joke everytime but I've never gotten this. Please explain...
(This is right after both universes realize that they've lost the Universe 1's box and can't find it in any of the other boxes)

Fransworth: We still have a perposterously slim chance.
Amy: Is it a kind of hair spray?

1). Amy is obsessed with personal grooming.
2). Amy is pretty stupid.

Ergo...

Vis-a-vis! Concordantly!

It's called a "non-sequitur". Futurama's full of 'em, mostly from Fry, and some from Bender.

No, I think in that case he just misheard what the marine biologist said. A good "Futurama" non-sequitur is in 2ACV15 "The Problem with Popplers".

FARNSWORTH: To Leela! She taught us it's wrong to eat certain things!
(Crew congratulates her)
BENDER: Let's get drunk!

That's Bender's good timing.
He just randomly wants to get drunk.
For example...
(In The Sting when Leela has the dream where she knocks the royal jelly on the couch and Fry reforms.)
Bender: Yay! My buddy's back and his credit cards are valid again!Let's go get hammered!

Can anyone tell me what they were referring to in I Dated A Robot when Bender and Leela were talking about Fry dating Lucy Lui....the whole convo where Bender says things like "Stifle that meatbag and Humans dating robots it's an outrage"

Bender was sitting cross-legged on the chair smoking a cigar and I guessed it was a reference to something but I dunno what.... confused
