Odd, because it's a repeat this Sunday (of Teenage Mutant Leela's Hurdles), and that's only on in certain parts of the US...

Well, that sux that it's only on in the west, but I'll check Fox at 7 this Sunday to make sure.  I hope there is, even thou I'd rather see Jurassic Bark than TMLH because I never saw it and everyone says it's great

Well I'm not seeing virtually any of it because I don't get Sky One and they aren't showing it on British terrestrial yet.

Sil, you aren't the only one waiting for Channel 4 to air series 4  :(

Is that like a British channel like Fox?

No, it shows much more "art house" style programmes and documentaries. It also shows Big Brother. It is, however, like Fox a free channel, and paid for by advertising.

But it's on ordinary TV rather than satellite or cable so we have to wait forever for movies and such, including season 4 of Futurama.  And I mean airing season rather than production season.  So anyone with 3ACV on DVD has seen more episodes than British terrestrial viewers.  Which strikes me as rather odd.

Erm, isn't it mainly British viewers that own the 3ACV boxsets anyway?

Also, i hate C4, they cut the episodes too. I know it takes forever, but it will be quicker to download them then to wait for C4 to air them. That and i don't think they're planning on showing the S3 finale, "I Dated a Robot".

Havn't they already shown "I Dated a Robot"? I'm almost 100% certain they have. Perhaps I'm just getting confused with other times I've seen the episode  :)

I'm almost certain they haven't aired it yet, that or i missed it being aired.

I miss it all the time! Yes, it is mainly brits who have the 3ACV boxset, but doesn't it strike you as a little odd that we are getting them on DVDs *before* they air on terrestrial?

I don't remember them showing I Dated A Robot either, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything cos I miss it on TV all the time.  Why weren't they going to show it? (If they didn't)

I also rely on Channel 4 and I'm certain they haven't aired I Dated A Robot.  I think the last one they showed was Time Keeps on Slippin'.  It's all a bit irrelevant now that season 3 DVD has been released, though it does leave me worrying that I'll have to wait for the season 4 dvd before I see the remaining episodes.

With reference to channel 4 cutting episodes, after watching season 1 on dvd I thought some of the scenes were improved with their editing (ie the joke actually worked better without the extra bits where they hit it home with a sledgehammmer).
When I saw season 2 on dvd however, I noticed they'd started cutting out whole jokes which is taking it too far.

I remember seeing Time Keeps On Slipping, but gods, that was ages ago! C4 are worse than I thought if they've only aired that far!

For syndication you have to cut out about an extra minute of material, so sometimes they have to cut out whole sections, which is slightly more practical than trying to take out tiny spaces and single lines here and there. But I agree that taking out entire sections sort of spoils it a bit.

That's nothing, we won't get the season 3 DVDs until September because the station that Futurama is on hasn't aired them yet...

Sil, you live in the UK, right. By what you've said i'm assuming you haven't yet bought the Season 3 DVD?! Why not? The only episodes you won't get on the DVD that you will get from airing season 4 are Leelas Homeworld, Love and Rocket and Where No Fan Has Gone Before. If you don't have a DVD player get the VHS set.

Do we really need a new thread every time someone sees a commercial for Futurama?

Good point, maybe we should start a thread for just Futurama promos.

::thinks about it for second::

On second thought, it would be a short lived thread and a waste of space.

When are they showing them? Cos I've been scouring the net and the TV guides. The last episode scheduled was about a month ago at about midnight.

@Sil - Futurama is taking a break from Ch4, probably due to Big Brother.
