The swanman challenge...Using your combined knowledge of Futurama, the simpsons and other successful shows,  wat is needed to make the worlds best cartoon show?
What kind of characters are needed? what kind of shows work? and who would you have working on it?

All aspects of a show: comedy, romance, tragedy, drama, adventure, action, etc.  Characters ahve to be emotional, expressive, and have their own distinct personalities.  In case you haven't realized, Futurama is strong in every single one of those mentioned.

I have a feeling that we'll find out when Matt Groening gives birth to his third child. (Hey, you've got to be optimistic about SOME things.)

Yes, but 90% of the world's population consists of total idiots who are completely devoid of any trace of intelligence - and that's an optimistic estimate.

Some people have a different sense of humor.  Remember that Futurama was intended for a certain age group.  Plus the fact that nowadays people don't give many things a chance.

True about The Simpsons. Futurama requires people to think, to analyze what they see, and to take everything for more than its face value. Some people are simply incapable of coherent thought, others are just too damn lazy. There's a reason they call it the "Idiot Box". *sigh*... Futurama was simply too good for TV.

Since this isn't strictly about Futurama, I'm moving it to the TV section.
