Futurama Episode Ideas (Season Five)

I've decided to start doing a sort of "spin-off" for Futurama starting from season five, going by production codes. Seeing as the show has finished once and for all, I've decided to continue it with ideas. You may have seen a few of these ideas in a previous episode ideas thread, but I've picked out a few of my favourites from there and added some new ones. You can expect to see season six any time soon, maybe.

5ACV01: "Little Devil Bender" Season Premiere
The devil of Robot Hell decides to go on a vacation, and he asks Bender to take his place as the devil while he is away.

5ACV02: "Nibbler's Dreamworld"
With Professor Farnsworth's new invention, it allows people to see into other people's dreams. The Planet Express crew decide to go into Nibbler's dream, and they are trapped.

5ACV03: "War of the Fry"
Fry's parents return from a time machine, and they try to convince him to go back with them into the year 2003. Fry must choose between his parents and his friends.

5ACV04: "Fryfish"
On another trip to the sewers, Fry accidentally mutates and he turns into a fish-like creature. He struggles to live his life as a fish.

5ACV05: "Anthology of Interest III"
Farnsworth fixes his what-if machine, and the Planet Express crew decide to ask it more questions. "What if Bender was supreme ruler of of the universe?", "What if the whole world were enslaved by robots?", and "What if Fry and Leela were married?"

5ACV06: "Bodyswap"
Farnsworth's invention goes wrong, and he makes the Planet Express crew swap bodies. Farnsworth desperately tries to change them back, while the crew struggle with life in their new bodies.

5ACV07: "Virtual Pizza"
After getting fired from Planet Express, Fry decides to get a job on the internet as a delivery boy in an online pizza delivery service.

5ACV08: "It's a New, New, New, New York"
Professor Farnsworth invents boots that can make people speed up, and when the crew each try them, they are sent hurtling fifty years into the future. They try to find a way to escape New New New New York in 3053.

5ACV09: "A Match Made Online"
Leela meets a man in a chatroom on the internet, but it is actually Zapp Brannigan in disguise and she soon falls in love with him, not knowing it is the man she hates the most.

5ACV10: "Futurama Episode LXXXII: Attack of the Clone"
Farnsworth discovers he has two sons, from his affair with Mom, and decides to take them to the Planet Express headquarters to meet everyone. Everyone gets along with them, except Cubert.

5ACV11: "HermBerg"
Under threat of being fired by Farnsworth for his constant Zoidberg insulting, Hermes has no choice but to become Zoidberg's friend.

5ACV12: "Wong Place, Wong Time"
Kif finally proposes to Amy, and she says yes. Zapp Brannigan asks Kif to sort out the DOOP headquarters party, making Kif late for the wedding. Amy soon thinks she has been rejected, and is upset. Kif begs for forgiveness.

5ACV13: "The Ass Chip"
Bender's ass loving chip is uninstalled and he no longer has an obsession for saying the word "ass." The crew miss the old, loveable Bender, and try to get the chip back.

5ACV14: "A Control Freak"
The crew get trapped in a world where the evil emperor can control what everything on his planet does - like a comic book. They try to escape without him changing what they are doing.

5ACV15: "Green Eggs and BAM!"
Elzar gets fired as a professional chef, and asks to get a job as the Planet Express chef. Farnsworth accepts, leaving Bender jealous, so he tries to get Elzar's job back.

5ACV16: "I, Smartass"
Bender's brain gets updated and he becomes a smartass, so he decides to compete in a robot quiz show and finds out about an opponent's plot to cheat their way through the game and win - so he tries to expose the truth.

5ACV17: "Final Futurama Fantasty"
Farnsworth creates a fantasty machine to fulfill people's fantasies, but the helmets to use the machine malfunction, and they each go into eachother's fantasies and have to cope with what their friends want.

5ACV18: "Brain in the Ass" Season Finale
Fry makes a deal with the evil brain spawn leader to make him smart to impress Leela. He accepts, and Fry becomes smart. Nibbler suspects that it is all a trick, and asks Leela to help Fry turn back to normal.

Some good ideas, Dr Zoidberg. You need to work on the titles though. Futurama titles are puns on other fiction/songs/movies/sayings, and these titles aren't. "The Ass Chip"? "A Control Freak"?

I'm sorry for the hate post. I was having a bad week. I recently got an F on my report card and I was very mad by it. This website is basicaly my only comfort. So I wrote a few episode idea's of my own for this topic. Today, I saw people telling me not to make any more. I'm not very used to being critisized for writing a post so I let myself go. I'm very sorry and i'm very sure I won't do it again.

I really like some of your ideas Dr Z - particularly "War of the Fry" and "A Match Made Online". There are a couple that I don't think would work, especially "The Ass Chip", but there are some really good ideas.

This thread made me come up with some of my own, but I'll only post them if anyone wants to hear them, which is unlikely!

Fav Title is definitly "Green Eggs and BAM"

this is in the other thread but we were relocated so....

Fry gets a steady girlfriend, Morbo's adopted human daughter, and is happy, leela is infuriated and tries to break it up. Her attempts fail, the girlfriend is killed in a horribly gruesome accident and Leela comforts Fry without mentioning that she realises she loves him.

B-story: Morbo's race comes down and they come from a dimension into musical theatre, it turns out his entire race are softies except for his numerous and beligerent offspring. Morbo has to reconcile with his overly wimpy father.

Cool, lots of potential there.

Maybe it was new when it was wrote, but I think "The Why of Fry" pretty much covers the past vs future conflict.

5ACV04: "Fryfish"
On another trip to the sewers, Fry accidentally mutates and he turns into a fish-like creature. He struggles to live his life as a fish.

Possibly could make a good episode, would have to have some ingenuity or a subplot of the PE crew trying to rescue him or something.

5ACV05: "Anthology of Interest III"
Farnsworth fixes his what-if machine, and the Planet Express crew decide to ask it more questions. "What if Bender was supreme ruler of of the universe?", "What if the whole world were enslaved by robots?", and "What if Fry and Leela were married?"

I think the Bender as ruler is covered by Godfellas, the enslaved thing covered by A Pharoah to Remember and Fear of a Bot Planet, and Fry/Leela married by The Farnsworth Parabox.

Farnsworth's invention goes wrong, and he makes the Planet Express crew swap bodies. Farnsworth desperately tries to change them back, while the crew struggle with life in their new bodies.

Seems like a trite premise, have seen it a lot before.  It's also been touched on I think adequately with Put Your Head on My Shoulder.

5ACV07: "Virtual Pizza"
After getting fired from Planet Express, Fry decides to get a job on the internet as a delivery boy in an online pizza delivery service.

Could be interesting.

5ACV08: "It's a New, New, New, New York"

Very good potential here, but would be a huge strain on the art department.

5ACV09: "A Match Made Online"

I don't really see this happening, as Zapp would certainly say he's a General, so she would think he's lying or figure it out.

5ACV10: "Futurama Episode LXXXII: Attack of the Clone"

Maybe?  It would take some doing to make more of Farnsworth's sons seem fresh.

I don't see the Professor doing that.  He doesn't seem to care enough about his crew to go to extreme measures to protect one's feelings.

I'm not a big Amy/Kif fan, and the device of someone not showing up and the other person thinking they don't care has been done.  (See Less Than Heroes)  It provides enough to be a good episode anyway though.

Been done in Hell is Other Robots and How Hermes Requisitioned His Groove Back, with Bender changing and the PE crew getting him back.

Would be kind of weird to do but could possibly turn out good.

Reminds me too much of Parasites Lost and The Devil's Hands.

Little devil bender was already done. its the whole plot of the latest comic book.

anyway, an ep i would enjoy seeing would be one where we are introduced to Leela's phobia. it would be something completely mundane and harmess. Think Anya's bunny phobia. Something so unscary as to be considered scraping the bottom of the fear barrel. And of course bender gets ahold of said object and uses it to torment Leela to no end forcing her to look to Fry for 'protection'

"Little devil Bender" Already done in one of the comics.

"Nibblers dreamworld" If this dosen't revolve around the boring Nibblonians it can only revolve about ham. Not the best idea.

"War of the Fry" The Fry? This plot would never hold. Time machine? In the year 2003? Would never work.

"Fryfish" I find this plot silly. Isn't this the exact same plot as the danish animated movie "Help, I'm a fish"?

"AOI III" All you'r stories have already been covered.

"Bodyswap" This could work but i think it would be very much the same all the time. Also this has already been touched bu "Put you'r head on my shoulders"

"Virtual Pizza" You need a second plot for this to work or else it will repeat itself all the time. Delivery after delivery after delivery. Very much potential.

"It's a new x5 york" I think you should concenrtate on new new york instead. Side plot needed. Much potential.

"A match made online" Zapp Brannigan is a 25 star doop general and also in love with himself. He dosen't sneak around chatrooms in disguise getting attetion by attractive and intellegent women.

"Attack of the clone" Walt, Larry or Ignar would have too be around 70 years old if this would work.

"HermBerg" Make up another reason for Hermes too be nice and this has alot of potential! Could be truly great!

"Wong place ...." I'm not a fan of Kif and Amy. Kif isn't supposed to get the girls. Altough as the wimp he is I can see him miss his own wedding. With some adjustments maybe.

"Ass chip" Been done

"A control freak" This sounds like the crossover comics. Been done

"Green eggs and Baam!" Is he gonna get fired from his own resturant? I don't think PE would be his first choice either.

"I, Smartass" Maybe, with a side plot, maybe. Wouldn't the other robots have gotten the same upgrade?

"Final Futurama Fantasy" It would be kind of hard to end this. You know the At-the-end-of-an-episode-everything-is-right-back-too-normal-rule. Maybe with some fine tuning. Potential

"Brain in the ass" This is pretty much the upcoming "The devils hands are idle playthings" episode.

If i would rate this season it would get 6 out of 10. Keep up the work. I hope to rewiev 24 episodes in season 6.

6ACV01 Scruff Daddy

Scruffy gets a letter saying from his son asking if he see him. Scruffy is shocked not knowing he had a 11 year old son. It was an office romance. Scruffys son befriend the other two boys (dwight and cubert) but while they are out exploring the moon he locks them in somewhere and returns to kill the rest of planet express. When they finally stop him they find out he is a robot and had been sent to kill the evil brain people. On the back of scruffs sons neck there is a small green light thus indicating he is a robot at the end of the show the camara pans out and as it shows the back of scruffy you can see the light on his neck to.

-needs some work but it is 11 o'clock and im tired.
