I say Futurama is better than the Simpsons of NOW. However, I would go as far as saying that Futurama will someday dethrone Simpsons as the funniest show ever. That's if Futurama retains it's quality in a period of 5-7 years. I hope it does retain it's comedic qualities or maybe even get even funnier as time goes on. That would rock! VIVA FUTURAMA! VIVA EL ZOIDO!

Exactly what I'm trying to say. In fact, I don't think I could have said it any better. Kudos! If Futurama retains its excellence up to a season 8-9, I would seriously consider it. If it last 12 seasons, I will definitely say it's better all time. But not until then.

The Simpsons might not be too great now(although it can still be funny sometimes), but seasons 3-6 are awesome...some of the greatest stuff ever. I wish this season's episode were half as funny as them.
Mike Scully's leaving, and Al Jean is gonna be the new executive producer next season. Hopefully he'll make everything better, but I don't know, I'm starting to think the show is a lost cause. He'd have to fire half the writing staff and either hire back some classic writers, or at least hire some new guys that actually know how to write a decent story. And even then, I doubt they could ever recapture the greatness of the classic seasons...the most I can hope for now is just a decent, entertaining show.
Anyway, Futurama...yeah, it's great. Currently funnier than the Simpsons have been in years. Not as great as classic Simpsons, of course, but the writing keeps improving. If it keeps with the current trend, and fox doesn't screw it over, I can see it rivalling classic Simpsons in a few more seasons.

Conan O'Brian! Conan! Conan! Conan! On another note, Simpsons still do manage to get out a really good catchphrase every now and then: Duffman is thrusting in the direction of the problem. IMO, the better episodes of Futurama currently(ie Parasites Lost, Amazon Women in the Mood, Luck of the Fryish, etc.) is as good, if not better than most of the best Simpsons episode. Also the writing of Luck of the Fryish rivals that of the best Simpsons episodes.

I am predicting the close death of simpsons. It was a great show but its really losing momentum now, its just not funny anymore. Just like that MadTV. Back in my day EVERY show was funny, and they had spazz, yes spazz and a little bit of....

Conan, eh...he's hilarious, but people really exagerate his impact on the show. His episodes were great, but so were just about all the other episodes back then. Seasons five and six are my two favorite seasons, and Conan left right at the beginning of season five, so he had no influence on a lot of my favorite episodes. It'd be great to bring Conan back, but only as a writer...I don't trust him as an executive producer--after all, look at his show. It's pretty much had the same pattern as The Simpsons: after a brief rocky start, it had some really hilarious comedy, but then lost most of the better writers to other sketch comedy/talk shows(Dana Carvey, Mr. Show, Chris Rock Show)...they were replaced by less funny, lazy writers(laziness on Conan, by switching to four shows a week instead of five, and by blatantly repeating previous bits...and laziness on The Simpsons by switching back to the full intro, and also by making ridiculous, nonsensical endings instead of writing something original). His show is still good, but only because Conan himself is funny enough to keep it entertaining through the interviews and generally poor comedy bits. On another note, Simpsons still do manage to get out a really good catchphrase every now and then:
Duffman is thrusting in the direction of the problem.

[/b] I agree...I'm being hard on The Simpsons(but it's like they say, we're hardest on the ones we love...you certainly wouldn't see me rattle on endlessly like this about any other sitcom). It still makes me laugh, and it's a lot better than most of the other crap on TV. But still, I can't help but look at what the show once was, and what the show is now...and also look at what the show COULD be now. The show still has some great writers(Jean & Reiss, Matt Selman, Ian Maxtone-Graham, among others)...it should be so much better than it is now. Come on, that N'Sync episode was just inexcusably bad. It was embarrassing to watch. Man, this is a long post...if anyone is still reading this, I apologize.

What Ricky said ... I'm far from willing to scan all threads for Birmingham Cow Disease on a daily basis. I do this in my spare time, like all of you. And deleting posts is a painful thing on UBB. And if you want me to reply to your "please let me on again" mails, make sure your mail account isnt full ... Actually, forget that. As i said, I won't remove your college a third time, so better make sure you lot get things sorted and post in a normal manner. If you run against the flood control cause you all only have one IP, not my problem, can't help that. But if the result looks like above (if it was 2 posts, no problem at all, but this ?), I sure can and will help that. Be assured that I'm willing to sacrifice some unguilty at an English college in order to get the board enjoyable for the mass. Hint: If you accidently double post, its a common behaviour to edit the second one and make it say that it was an accident. This happens to others, too. And most of the times I delete those when I come across them. And ... who is the one at your school who signed up as "I am what you see" ? That'd better not be a clone account.
