I'm new here, not new on the site, but new on this message board. But can anybody explain to me the future of Futurama? Are there more than 5 seasons? Cause, I picked something up like Matt Groening hadn't soled the whole series to FOX? Is this true???

Ok.
There are four seasons, but FOX screwed with the airings, which is why we haven't seen what is airing right now.
Futurama is cancelled, and its very very unlikely that it will be picked up by anyone.
And I never heard anything about not selling the whole series, that's a new one. It's also most likely wrong, and doesn't make sense to me.

There is a remote possibility that it could be picked up somewhere else, but that is not going to happen.

And by the way, welcome to PEEL.

Although I'm not entirely sure, I believe Matt G. cannot sell the series, as I think FOX and FOX alone holds that right... And Chump, you forgot the slim slim SLIM chance that they may make a Futurama movie. The creators and producers are apparently attempting to convince FOX to give them the go-ahead, but FOX isn't budging... Give it time, I say!

FOX has the rights to the SERIES, but Matt has the rights to the concepts, characters, etc., so if he wanted to take the show to another network, he could.

Are you sure, Kryten? I thought rights to everything were jointly owned by Twentieth Century Fox Television and The Curiosity Company.

Say WHAT?
Where did you discover that?

If what you say is true, it essentially gives Matt G. the legal grounds to give Faux a New New York salute (  :finger: ) and do as he flamin' well pleases with Futurama.

Whether or not Faux would let him, without filing a harassing lawsuit against him, and (under that threat) whether any other media company would touch it with an electric cattle-prod, are different issues.

Still, it might be the 'silver lining' we're so eagerly hoping for.

Well we only have one choice then.

Destroy FOX.

Or develop mind control powers.

Oh, I think Matt cares.  If he didn't care, he wouldn't have fought Fox in a (failed attempt) to get Futurama renewed.

I agree with Evil Fox Exec (Wait - I'm agreeing with a FOX Exec?). Matt cares. Futurama is more his brainchild - his favorite - than The Simpsons ever was.
Matt has enough money to make him, his children, and his grandchildren set for life. He wants to save his show.
