Accourding to a press release from sky, futurama is going to be broadcast in widescreen.

New Sky One series' confirmed for widescreen include Futurama, Fight School and Pop Years.

I thought futurama was made in 4:3!

Mmm, all the DVD's are in 4:3, perhaps Sky are going to cut the top and bottom off to maintain the ratio 16:9.

That would suck.  It's cheating.

I think, and I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong, it may have something to do with the difference in horozontal line resolution between NTSC and PAL.  PAL runs at a lower frame rate, but has a higher level of resolution.  To make an NTSC show broadcast on PAL, one would either have to stretch the image slightly, or add black bars to the top and botton ala widescreen.

Is "Enterprise" going to be Widescreen too? That's about the only advantage of the C4 airings over the Sky ones.
