Is anyone else out there nerdy enough to pay attention to writer credits? Or am I the only one? I probably am, but just in case I'm not I thought I'd start this thread. Come on, who's your favorite?

Me, I'm going with Lewis Morton. He is the man. He wrote Brannigan Begins Again, Raging Bender, and Amazon Women In The Mood, which are three of the funniest episodes. He wrote a few other good ones too, but I'm too lazy to look them up.

Ken Keeler rocks too, which is surprising since I didn't care for his Critic episodes(his Simpsons episodes were good but not great).

yeah I have no idea who the writers are so I'll say the writers of X-Mas Story and Space Pilot 3000

I wish I would notice the writers are, because they are all really talented.

Maybe they're the same writers as the Simpsons. If you see Jay Kogen in the credits, then it is. Jay writes a lot of Simpsons episodes.

ok I'm going insane.  I swear there was a handy guide that listed the writers, but i cannot find it.  if anyone knows lemme know.

I'd have to say i like the New's Radio, Weiner guy.

oh and here's a little known weirdo fact for you guys.  FishyJoe is the man when it comes to writers.  Name any episode of the Simpsons and he can tell you the writer.  Its like those savants who can tell you what day of the week will be 5 years from now.  Spooky

the writers and producers are mentioned in the episode capsules there.

cohen was also one of the three writers of my favourite episode: AoI 1 (together with Eric Rogers and Ken Keeler)

the list on frcr is still at http://www.experiencemardigras.com/frcr/library/writers.html  , but: Last updated December 19, 1999

Writers? I always thought futurama was real life... nah, I usually don't look at the writers credits, I don't even know it shows up in the mpeg  :)

no offense to Bovinatron speciffically, but why does everyone fall all over themselves to kiss Eric Kaplan's ass?  (I'm going to get my ass kicked here) I dont see what the big deal with him is.  Zombie College is not good.  His futurama episodes arent that great.  What am I missing?  If he's so wonderful please enlighten me, because I must be missing something.

VelorFog, why I don't agree that Eric Kaplan is that bad of a writer.  I will say that I didn't like his 'Hell is other Robots', so he isn't the best.

Zombi College was cool though, but not tv show material maybe.

There are a lot of former Simpsons writers on the staff(David X, Ken Keeler, just recently Bill Oakley and Josh Weinstein joined), but they aren't the same writers working on the Simpsons NOW if that's what you meant. And Jay Kogen wrote most of his episodes in season 2 with Wallace Wolladarsky(that's not spelled right at all...I always forget his name and I'm too lazy to look it up now). A while back I saw his name in the credits of Frasier(Jay Kogen, not Wallace). I'm not sure if he's still working there because I don't watch Frasier.

Ron Weiner, yeah. So far he's only done Luck of the Fryrish, but he'll probably end up being my favorite writer if all his stuff is that good. Lewis Morton wrote for News Radio too...damn, I should watch that show...it had a ton of great writers.

Wednesday. Anyway, thanks...of course my nerdiness isn't nearly as impressive online where people know I can just look up stuff that I don't know.

I got your back. Parasites Lost aside, his episodes haven't been too impressive. Hell was boring and Bicyclops, despite its cool internet bit, was one of my least favorite season 2 episodes.

Zombie College has an ok premise and some likeable characters, but when all is said and done I didn't laugh once throughout the show's entire run.

I respect that it tried to have more substance than most internet cartoons by trying to set up a large cast of real characters, but if you make what, 15(?) episodes and still can't come up with a single laugh, then there's something wrong. Contrast it to some of Mike Reiss's stuff, which had me falling over laughing, or Bill Corbett's cartoon, and I wonder why I even wasted so much time downloading all that Zombie stuff on my slow-ass connection.

Crap, you're right...I'm such a has-been. Oh how I wish I could find a "suicide" emoticon...

I was hoping you wouldn't point that out. I knew it was Ron...I'm not sure why I said Dave.

On a slightly different note, does anyone know if Bill Odenkirk is related to Bob Odenkirk in any way? If so, then man...Futurama is THE show to write for if you're related to a celebrity.

Al Gore's daughter, Conan O'brien's sister, and now possibly Bob Odenkirk's brother(?). Boy, I wish I could be Bruce Villanch's bastard son so I could write for Futurama. Hmmm...

brb...faking paternity test results...

Of course I love Eric Kaplan's writing but I wasn't aware that anyone kisses his ass. I just think he's a very good writer. But I don't think he's the best (although I think most people will agree that Parasites Lost is the best episode so far) Lew Morton probably has the best track record so far although Dan Vebber and Ron Weiner have both just done excellent debut episodes.

Of course if you want to find out who wrote what just visit the freeze frame files on CGEF that I do: http://morefuturama.com/freezeframe/index.shtml
they're all there except season 1

I'm actually quite interested to see if Kristen Gore (Al's daughter) will write an episode herself. She's currently listed as a 'staff writer'.
