Well, we'll know for sure in a few hours.

On Banzai: That's actually the British thing. They ordered 8 episodes back in January (sounds perfect for that time slot). It "combines elements of game shows, Japanese endurance show and hidden-camera comedy." In other words: Another humiliation show.

I've seen Banzai once or twice here in Australia (channel nine (I think) used to show it at about 1:30am), and it's actually pretty funny. It's sort of a British made Japanese game show parody. I know it sounds crap but it's good. Honest.

Banzai is actually an excellent show with lots of laughs. But not as good as Futurama as nothing really is.
This is of course, a Brit and an Aussie saying it's funny. Americans seemingly liked British cult comedy Fawlty Towers so much that they had to go make their own version, so who knows what they're gonna think of Banzai.

I've probably never seen it, but the thing is, replacing Futurama with unscripted game show "cheap laughs" is a slap in the face for writers. It probably fares well in that slot (always said that 7PM Sundays should be unscripted as the pre-emptions don't hurt these that much), but it should be bouncing Futurama to a later slot instead of replacing it.

Nearly all British comedy that is 'americanised' by US networks tends to fail...and I can't honestly see Fox pulling in many viewers with Banzai - but it costs virtually nothing to make.

Bonzai is a very funny show, but it is kind of a cult thing (no I don't mean sacrificial) and you Americans may not "get" it..
