I was just thinking how it could be great to have a role playing thread. People who are willing to roleplay, would take character, one would be Fry, one Bender, one, Leela, Amy, Zoidberg Hermes, Farnsworth and so on. Then there would be maybe a package to deliver and it would evolve into something strange. The better you know Futurama, the better you would be at role playing.

Sounds a little stupid but it could be fun...

This has been tried numeous times before.  With less than stellar results.  It will devolve into a incoherent mess of spam and stupidity.  Better luck next time...Oh Mod???

Yes, rpging in general is very poor on a message board even with the best of intentions, which most people posting here will not have.

I actually worked very hard on making a Futurama Campaign setting for Alternity, creating new character classes, new skill lists, new advantage/disadvantage lists (Zapp had his own section :P) but my group dissolved about 3 weeks before I was going to start running it.

Also, another problem with RPGing Futurama, is that you really DON'T want to have people playing the people from the show.  That's why I did a campaign setting, so if you wanted to play a Doop captain, you could, and you might just meet Zapp Brannigan, or Leela, or anyone else, but it would be controlled by the GM, and thus much smoother.  Like I said though, it never got off the ground.  Not because the setting sucked mind you, but because two of my players moved away, and one of the others started college and didn't have time anymore.

P.S. What's Con X Australian Guy?  And how in the world do you find the time with all that mining work you have to do?

P.P.S.  It's "Zapp" zypher :P  Though the extra syllable was very appropriate.
