ok, anyone who hasnt seen the episode and doesnt want to be spoiled: GO AWAY! I'm really not sure about this episode. We do get to know some of Benders background info -- thats good. Overall too much Bender though for me. We do get to see Don Bot and Clamps again (loved them), but their part of the story will probably be a mystery for me. They didnt really do anything important (besides teh "maybe we shouldnt relay on an accident to happen but kill him ourself" joke . Zoidberg only has a tiny role, but in my opinion the funniest scene with "yay little friend, good as new -- AAAAAAA!" and ... i dont want to see 3 romance episodes in a row, even if we are nearing valentines ... so overall .. a B- for me. enjoyable, but way from the other two season episodes (parasite lost and amazon women). ps: i liked the fembot better as seen behind the milk glass [This message has been edited by [-mArc-] (edited 06-09-2001).]

yeah... "too much romance, not enough human killing" 3 romance episodes in a row are REALLY enough... i liked the bended farnsworth joke, but it got a little tiring at the end...

Well, the episode wasn't really good, IMO. Episodes that tend to focus on Bender don't go down too well for me, finding them predictable, etc. I thought that the Farnsworth stuff was good and the slinky scene with Zoidberg was hilarious. The gangsters didn't really add anything, either. This ep will probably be liked by the Bender-lovers out there, but seeing that I'm not one of them, it won't be on my top episodes list. C- from me, I'm afraid.
One other thing, can't people stop bleating about too much romance on Futurama... sorry, but I don't see why romance and comedy should be seperated by some Chinese wall, they can easily be blended together. I will admit that three in a row is going a bit far, but I would still like some romance and emotion in future episodes. Now, I'm off to find the tissues and cry... boo hoo!

I thought it was hillarious, but I might be biased...
The funniest part was when the cut to the cave with Kif and he's crawling along the ceiling, lmao.

Why did they skip 3 episodes just to show yet another romance. Why can't they just show the episodes in order of their production code number? Fox can count can't they?
Anyway did anyone thing that Fry riding Farnsworth was just a tad bit gay?

I agree. Too much Bender (even though he's one of the best characters) and not enough Zoidberg or drama.

Originally posted by Kryten: Bump. Anyone have any new insights on their second viewing? Not really--in fact I forgot to watch it last Sunday. But I never reviewed it the first time around, so here's a quick summary of my thoughts. I liked it. It was the first episode I had seen since the season 2 finale...it renewed my interest in the show, so it has a special place in my heart. Also, it contains one of my favorite lines ever: "Some people would say I'm robbing the cradle...but I say she's robbing the grave!" So good. Lots of other great jokes too. However, the story is very boring and too robot-centric. The return of Flexo was unnecessary, as was the robot mafia. Coming off of Parasites Lost and Amazon Women, I can see why people wouldn't like this episode, but I thought it contained an adequate amount of laughs.

This episode is one of the series' most underrated episodes in my opinion. A good episode, and we got some good gags from this. Zoidberg's slinky is a classic.
The main plot, I enjoyed, and I find Angelyne to be a great one-time character. Jan Hooks' voice acting suited her character well. I also liked seeing Flexo return and also the whole Bender-Angelyne-Flexo romance plot. The Robo-Mafia's part in the episode was okay, I guess, and I enjoyed some parts from them, though they could have been utilized better. Though I definitely prefer "Bendless Love" over another Mafia episode, "Bender Gets Made", which I never really enjoyed. Best line came in near the end:
Bender: (crying after Angelyne leaves him for Flexo) Me too, me too...jerk.
So overall...good pacing, I guess, and characters will utilized well, like Spira said.
8.5/10

I don't understand why this episode is ranked or rated low in PEEL. I have always found it to be hilarious and entertaining. You all who don't like it can go to hell. Nah, I'm just messing with ya, you're all right! I am always a soft touch for Bender whenever he reveals his vulnerable and caring side, as he did at the end. I really didn't find it out of character at all. Or, rather, inconsistent with his behavior patterns over the life of the show. He's a scoundrel, a rat, selfish and immoral, then he realizes that he cares for so-and-so, and that often provides the denouement to the conflict. And if robots can be sexy...well, he and Angelene had good chemistry together. I always loved how he says "Buuuuuttttt...?" when he's pressing her to express her reservations. John DiMaggio's voice acting is excellent here. And I agree with spira, I've never been a big fan of the robot mafia. My husband loves Clamps, but he especially gets on my nerves. If maybe they had more humorous lines ( like Fat Tony and his gang on, you know, that other show), I might like them even. A solid episode for me: 7.5.

This is actually a really solid episode for the first two acts; I like Bender attempting to satisfy his bend-lust, and the quasi-subplot with Farnsworth's new angle on life rendering him completely unbearable--and even, kind of, the love story. There are some great jokes (Fry having a nickel up his nose, "He's a menace to every straight person in the company," Zoidberg's slinky, the montage), but in general I'm opposed to those sitcom-y, let's-fall-in-love-in-two-minutes-and-then-expect-the-audience-to-have-any-kind-of-emotional-attachment-to-the-story-line episodes. I appreciate what they're trying to do with Bender's character, and he does come off as pretty sweet and caring by episode's end--but I just can't rouse myself to give a damn about Angleyne or Flexo or the love triangle that Bender concocts. The third act just doesn't work for me. (Though I do like the ending, how they cut from Bender saving Flexo to Leela's line about Flexo and Angleyne having sex right in front of him.)
Also, I kind of hate the Robot Mafia. Unpopular opinion there, I know, but there you have it. And I don't care much for Flexo, either. This episode just manages to combine several elements that I find boring or irksome, which brings its grade down to slightly below the average.
6/10 (Not a bad episode by any means, but certainly not the best the series has to offer.)
