March 2nd - "Less Than Hero" [4ACV04]

7 PM e/p on FOX

Having seen this episode, I must say it's an interesting premise. Especially the villain: The Zookeeper!

Bah, that doesn't explain anything.  I was an attendee at a drug dealers funeral.  That doesn't mean I pulled the trigger.  *runs*

Just as an aside, if you click on certain shows in the official FOX schedule (fox.com) it comes up with any shows being prempted.

Quoted from the FOX site (this is for tomorrow, NOT the March 2nd EP!!!!!:

(READER'S NOTE: FUTURAMA is pre-empted this one night only)

Hahahahahah!!!! Oh wait, they're wrong. Let me laugh even harder. HAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh, that's a good one.

Judging by the reviews the Comic Con visitors have left on the Net this should be a good episode. I just hope Leela's parents are done right, much like Amy's parents.

And I hope there are no crying in this episode, like in "Leela's Homeworld". Sadly (pun intended), none of the members of the Turanga family can cry convincingly.

It is so good that we get to to see a brand new episodes of Futurama on March 2. Less Than A Hero should be a really good episode. It would be interesting to see our favourite characters using some special powers.

Also it's going to be good to see Leela's parents again because I really like to get to know more about them.

I posted this in another topic, but just to reiterate:

Quoted from: http://www.culttv.net/index.php?cm_id=252&cm_type=article  :

...Meanwhile, Futurama, an Emmy Award winner for Outstanding Animated Programme, returns to Sky One, Sunday nights at 7.00pm from 2nd March for its fifth season.

So it looks like March 2nd will be a good day for Futurama.

Just out of interest Ifv, how would you rate this episode compared to 'Leela's Homeworld'? I know it's totally different, but I was just kinda curious because they both have Leela's parents in them  :)

Less Then Heroes (or is it Hero?) is much less emotional. Leela's parents seem to just be there out of interest to see them return to be honest. but we get to see them interact with each other more on a normal day.

You're about to enter a place where FOX airs Futurama 24/7.
A place where the show is treated fairly or gets some sort of advertising.
You're about to enter, the Scary Door!

Well two things about Futurama Advertising, at least Cartoon Network really is doing it, At Gentle Ben's In tucson AZ there is a banner hanging from the second story promoting it.  GB's is a bar on Univeristy bvd at the heart of the U of A.  Also in the Maxim I picked up at the airport today, A Full page ad with bender and Angelene, Saying "Characters you can Relate to."

I guess the ads are paying off. Futurama on CN's getting better ratings than The Daily Show (OMG).

Amazing what a consistant time slot and a little advertizing can do for a great show.

Too be honest, I think the reason CN is promoting Futurama so aggressively is the amount of money they paid for it. $10 million is a fair amount of money for a cable network (yet when you think about it, 20 of the episodes together cost more than that). They're looking for a good return on their investment. There's nothing wrong with that, mind and it certainly gives Futurama what it always deserved in the first place : a stable home with good relations and executives who treat it with respect (even if they don't "get" it (which is not necessarily the case with CN)).

Let's not forget, the main reason FOX picked up "The Simpsons" was because at that point they had nothing to lose. Now they do, they've fallen in with every other commerical network.

This is great - I'm just worried that FOX will end up preempting it with a dazzling episode of "When Joe Millionaire watches the Bachelorette's Grass Grow"

I agree.  I'm going to resist reading the spoiler of the episode above until it becomes apparent FOX is going to preempt it.  I predict nothing as original as "When Joe Millionaire watches the Bachelorette's Grass Grow", but a KOTH repeat.

Nearly every episode I see on Cartoon Network is new to me.  Between Fox's scheduling shenannigans and being overseas, I missed all but a few episodes when Futurama first appeared on the air.
