Today I finally got round to watching 'Kif Gets Knocked up a Notch', and while Kif was giving birth, Bender took a photo and said "Neat!". I know this isn't the first episode where he's taken a photo. I remember him taking a photo in 'A Tatse of Freedom', and I think he took one in 'A Leela of Her Own'. Infact I'm pretty sure he's taken quite a few more photos than that, and I was wondering if anyone can remember which episodes?

Because he took a photo two episodes in a row, that got me thinking about this. At first I thought it was just a joke that they decided to use a few times. But now he's done it so much, and there's still some other chances in the left over episodes too, and it makes me ask, is there some sort of deeper reason for this? I doubt there is, but it would be cool. Like maybe in the final episode we could see a wall in Bender's and fry's appartmeant with all the photos stuck up on the wall and they could talk and reflect for a few seconds. Or maybe, god forbid, maybe they did this, not thinking the series would get cancelled, and that one day they could make some sort of clip show episode, and somehow use the photos as ways, or reasons for looking back on moment in past episodes. In a recent interview, David X Cohen said there there were some ideas that never got used, maybe this was one of them? Or maybe I'm reading far too much into this? ;)

I think he took a photo in the episode "That's Lobstertainment!" as I saw it this morning.

After just re-watching "Kif Gets Knocked Up a Notch", I noticed the exact same thing. My theory is sort of similar to the very early MST3Ks: Bender is interested in what it means to be human. Maybe that could be seen as out of character for him, but Bender has shown a tender and compassionate side before. Perhaps, he's actually interested in learning more about these biological things around him.

I've noticed this too.  He also took a picture in "Where No Fan Has Gone Before".

Maybe he is the one who takes those wierd photos we see on the walls of the PE Lounge. Like the one of Fry and Nibbler on the wall in the episode Problem With Popplers. Maybe he just wants to do human things. Could be that it is funny for a robot to be taking pictures of stuff.

This is kind of a "Weird Scene" thing.
