To steal the TOTPD from anyone else.

I know this is going to disturb a lot of Kif and Amy fans, but I don't think their relationship is deep enough to warrent all of these 'completely Kif and Amy' episodes.

I agree with Shadowstar and Bendo, thinking that there should have been a secondary plot; but, on the other hand, the main plot seemed rushed. You had to fit Amy/Kif talking, Amy stowing away (why? She is part of the crew.), the holo-shed, everything breaking up, the pregnancy scare, the baby shower, and the birth ritual all into 22 min. There isn't enough room for all of that and a second plot.

Maybe this could have been trimmed down some - made into a two-parter or something like that. At least, not thrust everything on us at once.

A good episode with some amazingly funny jokes, but it lacked something. It was a bit plain, simple and unexected, the birth was a bit of an anti-climax.
I'd still give it a 4.

I liked this one.  Zapp was hilarious as usual, and so was Zoidberg.  I do agree that Leela should have had more of a reaction after we learn that she is the one that impregnated Kif.

I thought this was an ok episode overall.  I guess I was expecting more, what with it being the first new one I've seen in over a month (missed A Taste of Freedom).  I've never really been a huge fan of Amy/Kif focused episodes, except that they give Zapp many great opportunities.

I wonder if this will be the last Amy/Kif ep (assuming the show is done), it kind of brings everything to a close.  After all, they don't have to do anything for 20 years, and Amy said she'd be ready then, thus solidifying their commitment to each other.

Sophisticated "toilet" humor: Zapp: "By the way Kif, your flush is set to stun instead of kill."  Hilarious.

I just love the one-eyed babies. Made me think if I wouldn't prefer Kif and Leela as a couple. But I'd still prefer Leela/Fry and Kif/Amy. Kif loves Amy and Leela... um...
anyway it was a great episode and I really enjoyed watching it.

Nice episode, thought the plot was very predictable as it was very rushed. But I didn't see the first act of the episode. Why? Thanks to FOX, I didn't expect them to air Futurama this week. I've so become used to ignore Sunday evenings that I've nearly missed this episode. Stupid FOX! You made me change my behavior patterns!

Not too shabby, I'm always surprised and disappointed when anyone really doesn't like an episode of this show.  Of course, I'm always surprised and disappointed to see Christmas trees in the trash on Dec 26 and the popularity of groups like Raelians and Rodent Dung-Eating Terrorist groups.

I loved the Angry Dome.  Scientists need such things. By simple odds, 1/2 of all scientific hypothesis and experiments fail.  Makes for some days when you wonder why you wasted 2 weeks (or months).

BTW, am I the one who thinks Zoidberg crying was just plain gratuitous?

It had good Kif - Zapp interaction and some good poor Zoidberg moments.
The weirdest part was when Zoidberg cried like a baby. I don't know about that one, it felt so weird. He usually doesn't cry like that.

Edit: Like Just Chris, I think it looked too rushed.

Why would Leela be so suprised that she impregnated Kif? Its just like donating to a sperm bank... There goes your DNA, but a lot of the time, you don't care.

The Zoidberg crying like a baby thing didn't do it for me, either.

It kind of reminds me of an old Simpsons gag, where you hear a woman singing in the church choir, and it turns out to be Ned Flanders. Funny on paper, but it doesn't work on TV. The singing voice/crying noises are too far removed from Flanders'/Zoidberg's real voices to be believable.

Or maybe I'm a prude and I take the jokes too seriously. Whatever.

I think that's it.  I loved Zoidberg crying.  Had everyone in the house hook, line, and sinker.

And why would Leela have more of a connection?  It's not like she actually slept with Kif, or had the things squirming around in her body for 9 months or however long.  I think that's why mothers have that "motherly instinct," because they had the sucker growing inside them for so long.  Obviously, Leela didn't have that.

Sheesh. Who are you, BrainSluggo?

I like the Fry/Leela story arc as much as anybody, but it shouldn't dominate the whole show. "Shipper" people want Fry to be jealous about every little thing.

"Omg! Leela was making out with William Shatner! Why isn't Fry jealous?"

"Holy shit, Leela's hugging her parents! Fry should be killing them in a jealous rage!"

Man, stop being so goofy! Criticize the Fry/Leela episodes for not being Fry/Leela-ish enough if you want, but leave the hilarious normal episodes alone.

I didn't mean overly jealous, just some kind of reaction, like a quick double take, or a jaw drop, or a gasp or something. He didn't even respond at all to the afore mentioned events, thats a little out of character for someone who supposedly loves her.
And Frys reaction was fine when Leela was huggin' her Parents, what'chu talkin' 'bout FJ?!

And why would Fry be jealous?  It's not like there was anything even resembling hot naked animal sex between Kif and Leela, heck, it's not even as if they showed interest in each other.

Sigh, always with the explinations...

Becuase jealousy(or any emotion for that matter) is rarly based on rational thinking, that on top of that fact Fry is just, in general, rarly rational.
His irrational thinking would/could lead him to make connections where there realy are none.

Sheesh...
And who gives a crap if us 'Shippers' always whine about Fry and Leela, We're shippers! Its what we do! Duh!

This might just be the episode most densely packed with Star Trek references (apart from "Where no fan...", ofcourse). That alone makes it good.

Since I'm such a huge Kif fan, I'm a little disappointed in this episode. We really don't see much of his planet, or learn why his people was so influential. What gay name was that for a planet? They better not give his species such a lame name as Amphibians. I'll be mighty miffed if they do.

That said I liked this episode, although it sloweed down in the end. Lot's of good jokes: the angrydome, party-boarding, evil Lincoln, Zoidy crying, holoshed amd all the other Trek references.

It's shallow, but I nearly wet my pants from laughter, when the moon hit Kif on the head.

I think it was a nice develoment on the Amy/Kif relationship, always nice to see that. And as bonus we get some info on Kif's physiology.

And for the L/F shippers: Nix hit it on the head why Leela doesn't react strongly on the pregnacy, as for Fry: as the grabs below show he's got his Leela-fix in this episode, so he's happy.

Notice how Fry managed to move his grip on Leela's legs up from below her knees to around her hips. Granted he had a very nice incentive to do it, but Fry usually isn't this strong.

What is it with Fry, dangerous situations and Leela's ass anyway?

Overall, 8.9/10. Kif-heavy show, always good.

Amy's calendar before it was overtaken by motherhood.

07  - Lunch with Molly
08  - Trash Molly with Tina
09  - Trash Tina with Molly
10  - Find new friends

Gee, Amy sure had a busy week planned

It wasn't too good in my opinion. A bit too boring a plot, and some overly stupid jokes.

However, it was still Futurama. I give it...

1 - Loved the angrydome.

2 - didn't love Zoidy crying. Sorry.

3 - We first heard the term "smizmar" in Raging Bender (ultimate robot fighting) when the striped announcer alien says "Ladies, gentlemen, and smizmars". Nifty how they gave us "smizmars" three years ago, and just explained it now.

4 - I'm with Nix. Why would Fry be jealous of Kif  absorbing some of Leela's DNA.

5 - Amy had to sneak onboard because
a) she wasn't assigned to go on the mission.
b) She couldn't redirect the ship if she was in the deep freeze. And if she'd been part of the oficial crew on this trip, she would have to be frozen with everyone else.

6 - Bender was "pregnant" too, a few episodes ago. Now Kif. Makes me wonder which male character will be impregnated next.

7 - This must mean Kif is actually female. He's  taking in someone else's DNA, combining it with his own, and bearing the young. At best, I guess kif's people impregnate each other mutually, rendering them almost hermaphroditic in the sense that earthworms are hermaphroditic. So Kif being referred to as male is... a tad odd.

Finally - I enjoyed the episode a good deal.

first off-when was Bender pregnant, and have you ever heard of seahorses? You know, the species in which the male gives birth? And for god's sake, it's science fiction-I'll harken back to the episode of farscape where an alien that looked like a man was the female of that alien's species...don't be so damn serious about this...

S_M - Sorry, I'll attempt to be stupider and less analytical. Durrr, teh new Futurama is good, me likes angrydome, huh huh huh.

Also, Bender had all the beer brewing inside him, not too long ago. And he acted pregnant. The episode in which Cubert and Dwight have their huge paper route competing with Planet Express.

And the reason Kif can't be male.... no sperm, no eggs involved. the genetic combination that resulted in new babies took place inside his body. Certainly can't call Kif male based on his behavior.... he's decidedly not masculine.

It was a good one, not great but definately good.
I laughed my ass off at the jokes. About Bones, "stop testing our love!" about Leela being the father but the episode has little replay value. Without the surprise effect of the jokes they just arent funny. Zoidberg crying is funny for the first time, But unfortunately I thought when I heard it that it was amy so the zoom-out was lost on me  :(

And of course kif isnt male, How can you have a boner without bones?

They didn't use cryonics, they just took a nap.

But if Amy had openly gone with the crew, Leela would probably have password protected the navigation systems, since Amy allready have stated that she would like to visit Kif.

According to the official *cough* "website" *cough* he's male-ish, probably a watered down version of male.

But it does explain why Kif was so confused about the human concept of making love in "Where The Buggalo Roams".

Correct.

He bears the young, and is "fertilized" in a sense by Leela's DNA. Therefore, Kif is a female. So what does this make Kif and Amy as a couple?

well, I'm thinking Kif is "hermaphroditic". If he were with one of his own people, he could probably impregnate them while being impregnated in return.

Great episode.

Zoidberg provided some good laughs, Zapp also. The one-eyed tadpole at the end was good. Or bad, depending on your point of view.

I thought that the Wongs were a little too enthusiatic about being grandparents via Kif, as they're supposed to hate the "squishy" fellow.

Good CGI, some great insights into Amys lifestyle, and the Holo-shed... I want one.

Is there anywhere I can get party-board too?
