i have a complete set of futurama episodes (through season 5) which i've painstakingly recorded off of the tele onto cdrom, in 100MB .avi file per episode.

i don't really watch them any more. would it be wrong for me to try to sell these cds? i believe in supporting the artist, i've bought groening's stuff since before the simpsons were around, but these are episodes off of free tv that anyonce can record. by selling the cds, i'd just be saving someone else the trouble of recording them through a video capture card themselves. i'd really just be selling my recording services.

it seems like it would be such a waste to throw them out when someone else could get some use out of them.

what do you think?

You'd still be profiteering from the sale of copyrighted material which you don't own. Last time I checked that was illegal.

Illegal?!?!?  Well crap.  I've copied every one of Eddie Van Halen's solos on to CDR.  I was gonna flood the market.
