Pretty Good News, Everyone!

Hey, while reading this morning's newspaper, it seems that News Corp, and so the dreaded Rupert Murdoch, may be about to sell of Fox to another company!

So, with a bit of luck, we may get rid of that bastard Murdoch, and someone will give Futurama a chance!  (though even more likely, we'll get some bastard that keeps screwing over Futurama anyway)

Do you really think that THIS makes any difference? I really don't think that a Multi-Billionaire like Rupert Murdoch influences a TV-Networks programmes. And he surely won't give a rats ass about a cartoon-show.

I don't know if this affected Fox's internet presence, but their website looks different all of the sudden...

kill murdoch...kill murdoch...kill murdoch...well now u know my opinion on the matter...kill murdoch...and i do hope some other corporation will buy fox...unless they have a different opinion than we do on the best shows that are shown on fox...

To be honest, Ainoth is probably right, and this will make little difference, though it may make some, as new management always leads to changes in policies and objectives.  However, there was once an example here in Australia where the owner of a TV network personally really hated the show that was being screened at that time, and had it pulled off the air mid-show!

Sure those things CAN happen. On the other hand maybe things will get better at Fox, IF they change managment.
But I don't see Rupert Murdoch having a particular problem with Futurama. If he had so, the show would have been cancelled. I guess he would pull a few political strings, does not really care for cartoon-shows if they make money.

Anyway, let's see what comes. I don't expect major changes.
