ok, lets assume everybody will have all, or a high (high ninties) percentage of futurama episodes once the series finishes, whether it be dvd, tape, digital, whatever. Well I'm thinking of a marathon, more like a synchronised watching of all the episodes, to celebrate (like you would at a wake) the end of futurama. there would be a dedicated chat room, (maybe passworded) a host (to post the current episode viewing, and probably more things) and a short chat after each ep. the episodes sum at *approx* 24 hours, when complete, so the whole thing would take about 30? probably less, that just gives super overtime for screwin around. has thing sort of thing been done before? did it work? lend me your thoughts. ooh, ooh, and snacks. lots of snacks. we must all get snacks.

Welcome to PEEL, Zyxer!
Your idea sounds like an idea for the AGI (a PEEL convention in England next summer). I don't think that's ever been done before; I would probably go insane if I watch all... I don't know, 70 (?) episodes in a 24-hour marathon. But hey, if there's snacks involved, I'm in.

The idea of sitting through all episodes sounds painful, I couldn't stay awake that long, and it might put me of the show for life. I prefer to watch two or three episodes in a row maximum.

I'm only going to meet friends, it wouldn't bother me if Futurama wasn't mentioned let alone watched the whole weekend.

But it could be running in the background though!

It's a great idea!!! Obviously you wouldnt be chained to your chair while the marathon was running...and there can be contests like how many cans of homemade slurm can one drink and who can sit through the most episodes of futurama!

I could stay awake such long, since I have some practice. But the idea is.... not great... yeah didn't you hear of that Japanese/Chinese kids died in front of monitors in computer clubs?
Oh... my vision's fading...
probably not so bad idea! Let's kill ourselves with Futurama, if Fox kill Futurama itself...  :evillaugh:
oh... Welcome  :D

I'd be a great idea but impratical.
a) Time-zones: Not everyone here is from the same time zone, you'd get people joining and leaving constantly.
b) Time: No-one would 37 hours (21 mins per episode, about 9 minutes chat, 74 episodes) free in their schedules.
c: Wakey: The majority won't be concentrating by episode 10, too long.

However, running in the background at AGI would be good.

Oh come on, you're acting like you've never spent 36 hours straight watching television...

I watched the entire Series two the other day, but I was ill and in bed and there was nothing else to do, so I think that's ok.

AGI... OK, who's providing the TV, and since when the hell have we been planning to stay for 37 hours in Oxford... Argh *head explodes*

Agrees with Tweek: I'm going to meet people and have a laugh. TV quoshes conversation and intelligent discussion. Kill it!

Sounds like something better suited for the series "24".
