"Shippy" does come from "relationship,"  as does "shipper," which describes someone who wants characters to be in a relationship.  I think "shipper" came first and originated in X-Files fandom, among people who wanted Mulder and Scully in a relationship.  I think they devised all sorts of sub-categories too (yeah, I've been to some bad spots on the internet).  I think the terms sound sort of silly, myself.

"A Clone of My Own" is the only one I'd disagree with you there Lrrr (I'm just going to spell it correctly  :p ).  I'd replace it with "Love's Labour Lost in Space" and "Brannigan Began Again" but otherwise, I'd say you have a good list going.

Very difficult to pick one. The reason I fell in love with Futurama the day it aired for the first time is the way they seamlessly integrate deep emotional content and strong social commentaries with nearly constant humor (i.e. the nebula in "A Flight To Remember" ), and pretty much all episodes are structured that way. But if I had to pick a few, it would be (in no particular order) Love and Rocket, Parasites Lost, Xmas Story, Time Keeps On Slipping, and Godfellas.

HOW CAN YOU LIKE TIME KEEPS ON SLIPPING!!! i hate it! it drove me away!

on another note, i liked amazonian women in the mood (death by snu-snu OOORAH!!!, roswell that ends well, why must i be a crustatian in love (mostly the sauna scene), parts of others.

i could have liked X-mas story, and a tale of two santas, if the first one wasn't about a total and sac religious perversion of christmas where a satanic robot kills everyone, and the later, because of that first reason, and the robot is allowed to kill people still.

i also hate time keeps on slipping over all other crap shippy episodes, because of fate. i can deal with fry stupidness, but fate that is a whole nother thing. fate is what i srive to correct in my fan fics, in a cool a maner as possible though.

I see that you're mad at some of Futurama's (best) aspects for religious reasons. Futurama is a brilliantly satirical cartoon. Part of that means beating on religion. If you enjoy satire, you should be able to laugh at yourself from time to time. If you can't/refuse to laugh at yourself and your own beliefs, then you have no right to laugh at others either. It's just satire, and cartoonified satire at that - deal with it!
Also, would you mind explaining this "fate" thing that you cite as your reason for hating the shippy episodes?

"I'll stuff coal so far up your stocking, you'll be coughing up diamonds!"

How can you not love a charcter who would say that?

"Luck Of The Fryrish" might be the best episode, but "Xmas Story" is the most well-rounded episode, with just the right amount of everything.

it did have the right amount of everything. i concur.

however, i fell as though a satanic robot that is 200 years old rampaging over the globe killing millions is not my idea of comedy. 200 years? you would think that they would have destroyed the damn thing by then!

sorry, but i really hate cristmas perversions. good thing i got some sense of retrobution by being the only fan fiction writter thus far that has done the destroy santa bit.

"The Luck of the Fryish" for me. Other greats include "Jurassic Bark", "Godfellas", "Where No Fan Has Gone Before" and "Leela's Homeworld". "Parasites Lost" is good too, but I do think it is a tad (just a tad) overrated, as I don't think it's as well written as those mentioned above........... just a tad......

I would say that the  best episode is yet to come. This we may only know when FOX finishes off the series.

when will may sweeps begin anyway? to find out when the last episode will air, assume a logical date for the may sweeps, then add two weeks to it, then pretend that FOX is predictable and add all the remaining episodes to that giving one week to each one. this gives us a rough estimate of the last episode airing....nine weeks after that may sweeps thing happens.

good luck on caring.

S2: "fry & the slurm factory" and "the problem with popplers"
S3: "parasites lost"
S4: "roswell that ends well"
S5(so far): so many good ones this season! i'd have to say "the sting" and "the why of fry" but "jurassic bark" was great as well.

Hmmm....
1) Where No Fan Has Gone Before
2) Roswell That Ends Well
3) The Problem With Popplers
4) Jurassic Bark (Man, I was sobbing like a little girl at the end!) (No offense meant, little girls.  I'm sure you're very tough and could beat me up 30 times over.)
5) Hell Is Other Robots (Love the robot devil, especially his girly scream.)  (Again, little girls, no offense meant.  Please don't hurt me.)

And although I don't think any of the episodes this happens in would rank in my top 5, I love whenever Clamps freaks out.

Alot of the recent McSeason 5 episodes are some of the best i've seen.
The Farnsworth Parabox, The Sting, The Why of Fry and Jurassic Bark are some of those i'd quote as some of my favourite episodes, but don't ask me for an order, that'll be pretty hard to do.

if i survived the slow strangling of the X-Files and the death of Spike, i think i can somehow work up the courage to go on...

But Spike lives on via "Angel"! *kills self*

Also, I think Hell Is Other Robots is one of the worst episodes ever, so I'm scared that the series finale will be similarly crappy. But if that's the case, I can always ignore and pretend The Why of Fry is the season finale. Sigh...
