Here’s a plot
for a fan fict:
Fry was permanently assigned to be a delivery boy in the Imperial Dragon restaurant. He did his best to be a good worker, but soon realized that only interstellar delivery can make him happy. But he couldn’t change his career chip. He was fired several weeks after as a consequence of the regular drinking and irregular working. After that he was assigned to a dock delivery. Days of miserable dirty work made him understand that he needs his own path in life. He ran away from the earth. Spent several years living in poverty on a backward planet of coalon, working as a miner. But that didn’t satisfy him either, and he constantly searched for alternative ways.
On one cloudy (as always at the coalon) remarkable day (which changed his whole life) he met captain Branigan the senior. That’s how his path of a space pirate began. Traveling among the stars, fighting against DOOP fleet, robbing ships and all the stuff that follows the profession of buccaneer, made him really satisfied. At the age of 36 he became a space ship captain, it was the happiest day of his life. Several days after that, his ship was ambushed by the Nimbus, and though they managed to escape, capitan Fry was badly wounded (not mortally, though :-).
Since that he lived on the Mafilon, the unofficial pirate capital to the south from the north pole of
this Universe (this pole really exists! :-).
He ended his days living in beggar’s slums of the capital, serving as a delivery man for local Pizza company…
