"Futurama producer and writer Patric Verrone was honored with the Animation Writing Award by the Animation Writers Caucus of the Writers Guild of America.

The award is targeted at the person of Patric himself and shows how much his work (and that's Futurama to a big extend in the last years) is valued by people in the business who do have a clue:

"His work in daytime and primetime animation, in particular his writing for Futurama, have always been of the highest quality."
-- Craig Miller, AWC chair"

CGEF

..yet more good news from CGEF, FOX must surely be taking notice and kicking themselves.

That's cool news  but I think it would probably take an apocalypse to wake Fox up.

If there was the Apocolypse, Fox would probably turn it into "When Disaster Wakes Up Network Executives...!"

FOX believe "quality" is Saddam Hussein's favourite brand of chocolate.

The WGA (writers guild of america) has the whole article online now.

Ironically, out of the 6 episodes he wrote (1ACV06 - A Fishful of Dollars, 2ACV01 - I Secon That Emotion, 2ACV10 - A Clone of My Own, 2ACV15 - The Problem with Popplers, 3ACV08 - That's Lobstertainment!, 3ACV16 - A Leela of Her Own) at least two belong to my least favourite episodes (clone, lobstertainment) and one to my more favourite ones (popplers).

That said, the award was not only for his writing on Futurama but for his lifetime achievement for animation, so things like him being treasurer for the WGAw probably play a role, too.

Hush!

It was all Futurama's doings.

Geez, if Fox saw you say that..

Fox Exec 1: What's this. "Futarna" got another award?
Fox Exec 2: Hang on... Someone on the internet has said it might not be solely to do with this, "Futurne" show.
Fox Exec 1: Phewwf. That was a close one.
