Anybody seen a really touching moment in Futurama, one that gave them that little stirring of emotion inside, or brought a tear to their eye?
Now, has this moment had a second appearance in another episode?

In "A Flight to Remember", and "Xmas Story" there was a moment whe (in AFtR) Fry and Leela both remarked on how "everybody had somebody" except them, and in XS, there was the whole "together, we're lonely together" thing. I find that oddly touching because in some ways I'm a very sentimental chap.

Now you go. Hiro, If you post in this thread without mentioning a "touching moment" I'll kill you. I mean it.

I found the resusitation scene of Fry by Leela really touching, go Fry!
Also immortalised by me in PCC Fred's avatar!

The lunar lander scene in "The Series Has Landed" is one of the best scenes in that category, and probably the moment I realised this show was so much more than just a hilarious comedy. You could almost say it was the scene that made me the Futurama megafan I am today.

Ending scene of "Luck Of The Fryish" (ofcourse) and the finale minutes of "Leela's Homeworld" (naturally).

Edit: pronanly? finaly? I need sleep!

I found that scene with Leela in that pink slip very touching and Leela and Amy naked in that shower scene was very touching for me

Any case of Fry and Leela "having a moment" gives you that warm, glowing feeling.  This is one of the great aspects of Futurama - depth and romance without being saccarine.  Fry's rescue of Leela in Fry and the Slurm Factory even has a touch of the romantic in it.  I think it was his love for Leela that gave Fry the strength to overcome his Slurm addiction and long enough to keep Leela from becoming a Slurm-Queen.

This Slurm Factory scene wasn't even remotely touching for me...

Luck of te Fryish all the way, that ending was just so cool.
As for other moments the end of Parasites lost was nice with the whole holophoner sequence an all. The End of Leela's home world was very touching and of course Love and Rocket I just wish Fox would give us a break and show us what happened after that episode  nstead of showing the episodes in a stupid order.

"Parasites Lost", of course. The last scene, when Fry practices his playing on holophoner. There were tears in my eyes, really.

The most touching for me so far is the end of Leela's Homeworld.  There are plenty of others as well.  That's what makes me appreciate Futurama so much.

Tears appeared in my eyes at the end of, or during:
Luck Of The Fryish,
Time Keeps On Slipping,
Parisites Lost,
Leelas Homeworld,
A Leela Of Her Own,
Love & Rockets,
A Flight To Remember,
Cyberhouse Rules, and
The Day The Earth Stood Stupid

My favorite being a tie between Leela's Homeworld, and Love & Rockets.

With The Day the Earth stood Stupid I felt sorry for Fry that no one believed him but not sad in any way.

A Leela Of Her Own? That's one of the most hillarious episodes of season 4, but I didn't react emotionally watching it. Ofocurse when Leela started to cry in the pizza store it was alittle sad, but then Bender steps in and give his brilliant line, and it all turned out good.

But nobody has had anything else that is mirrored in a later episode! Where's the deep feeling of continuity leading to the undercurrent of a beautiful (preferably sexual) relationship between the two?

I found most of these "touching" but was only really moved by Luck Of The Fryish and Leela's Homeworld. Probably more by LotF, since in LH Bender sums what I feel in his "awwwww!" kind of thing. It is happyily tearful. LotF is more moving, and for a while I didn't see the conection between "Don't You Forget About Me" by Simple Minds at the end and the fact that it's actually a Breakfast Club song. I haven't seen Breakfast Club yet, but I feel I want to now.  :)
