I'm watching FOX and they just showed a promo for the sunday lineup.

it said  "it all starts with futurama 7, 6 central"
as opposed to "it all starts at 8," which is what the usually say (and what Matt G has bitched about in articles)

I'm thinking it was a typo

Mybe they are going to give the last bunch of episodes a good chance, so that they can bring it back without looking like they're kowtowing to a bunch of deranged nerds clamouring for it's retun?

Only in America could there be a network that Futurama wasn't good enough for.

They are trying to lure us into a false sense of security.

Either that or one of the emmy judges has commented that FOX don't promote one of its emmy nominated shows that much, and they are currently going "of course we promote it, what are y-you talking about!?!". As soon as the emmys have gone, so will the avertising for Futurama...

those idiots... they picked the wrong pile, they should've picked the 'sports and other crappy stuff' pile instead of the 'great shows, let's cancel' pile

But when it doesn't win that emmy - because sod's law rules the media - FOX will forget all about it all over again.

Usually on Sunday promos, they talk about the 8pm and up shows and then when they do the final screen they say, "It all starts at 7 with an all-new Futurama." Nothing new. FOX doesn't love Futurama! You lie! YOU LIIIIIIIEEEE!!!

I think there may actually be a chance for an emmy.  The other contenders seem pretty weak.

Forgive me if I'm a dumbass, but what is "sod's law?"  Is this a British term or something?

meh, I doubt it wins an emmy, but we can only hope... and hoping that it will save futurama isn't very realistic either

Murphy's Law

(Or "Sod's Law" ) The correct, *original* Murphy's Law reads: "If there are two or more ways to do something, and one of those ways can result in a catastrophe, then someone will do it." This is a principle of defensive design, cited here because it is usually given in mutant forms less descriptive of the challenges of design for lusers. For example, you don't make a two-pin plug symmetrical and then label it "THIS WAY UP"; if it matters which way it is plugged in, then you make the design asymmetrical (see also the anecdote under magic smoke).

Edward A. Murphy, Jr. was one of the engineers on the rocket-sled experiments that were done by the US Air Force in 1949 to test human acceleration tolerances (USAF project MX981). One experiment involved a set of 16 accelerometers mounted to different parts of the subject's body. There were two ways each sensor could be glued to its mount, and somebody methodically installed all 16 the wrong way around. Murphy then made the original form of his pronouncement, which the test subject (Major John Paul Stapp) quoted at a news conference a few days later.

Within months "Murphy's Law' had spread to various technical cultures connected to aerospace engineering. Before too many years had gone by variants had passed into the popular imagination, changing as they went. Most of these are variants on "Anything that can go wrong, will"; this is sometimes referred to as Finagle's Law. The memetic drift apparent in these mutants clearly demonstrates Murphy's Law acting on itself!

So basically the judges will have a choice (not trying to sound biased, but) either be clever and go for good Futurama, or bloody stupid and go for weak competitors. Sod's law thus dictates that they will be bloody stupid. There you go  :p

We won't burn anyone. (Though some people would deserve it, but I won't tell you who...   :p)
I hope that they do, too, of course. Futurama would really deserve it, and we'd too.
