GI Zapp was OK. And as an exploration into characterization I enjoyed Neutopia, and wish it'd been a bit more nuanced, but it was fine.

I think I've only seen "Saturday Morning Fun Pit" twice, but I do remember finding the "Bendee-Boo" segment the least objectionable, and enjoying the "G.I. Zapp" segment in concept if not execution. That said, SMFP is easily the worst trilogy episode of the series; I recall "Naturama" being kind of boring in spots, and the premise itself somewhat baffling, but I think I more or less enjoyed the ride with that one, whereas Fun Pit is just a grueling ordeal. Then again, the Holiday Spectacular is also a real shit show...

I haven't seen those either.

I did enjoy watching "Neutopia," not because I thought it was a good episode (it wasn't), but because watching it was sort of like asking the What-If Machine what it would be like if EvilLunch wrote part of an episode.

Reincarnation was a fluke that they never managed to replicate. And bloody hell, did they try.

I don't understand why they thought stuff like Naturama would be more interesting than say, Anthology of Interest III.

Some of the Comedy Central episodes might have at least been a bit more palatable if they had been presented as What-If scenarios.

I actually really enjoy Naturama, though I do agree that it's an...odd concept for the show to deal with? Definitely feels like something that would fit more in an anthology episode of The Simpsons, but I still feel that Futurama pulled it off pretty well.

Naturama was something I'd have loved to seen more of. I'd watch an entire season of Naturama. But I'd also prefer it if it was entirely seperate from Futurama, and wasn't simply an excuse to draw things like walrus versions of the crew.

What the fuck is the Groening obsession with walruses anyhow? Sooner or later, they show up in his work and have disturbing sexual connotations attached. Every. Fucking. Time. Groening, pull your head out of the walrus gutter!

Wait, what gross walrus-related thing am I forgetting from The Simpsons? I remember the square-dancing stomachs homicidal dolphins, but nothing with walruses...

Also, if you wanna talk disturbing walrus porn, you should check out Tusk. It is among the most disgusting things I've ever seen, though I've admittedly led a sheltered life...

Honestly, to hear the writers discuss their process in many of the new-run commentaries, it sounds like they were basically just tossing a bunch of what-ifs at the wall and seeing what stuck. (Answer: not much.)

Futurama came up in conversation when I was with a couple of my friends today.  The general consensus seemed to be that the Comedy Central episodes don't count as real Futurama, and only the original episodes are actually worth watching.

There was a Halloween episode where they did a parody of The Island of Doctor Moreau.  Homer got turned into a walrus.
