If Futurama had made it to a 200th episode like Family Guy did, what would it be like?  I asked the other message boards this, and I'd like your feedback.

Maybe an episode that involves a sport like Blernsball.   The Omicrons (or whoever the bad guys will be) take over Planet Express.  And the only way they can get PE back is if Fry, Leela, Bender, Hermes, Amy, and Zoidberg all play a baseball game.  If they beat the Omicrons, they get PE back, if they don't, they face unemployment DOOM!

Or another scenario can be one where they have to pick a team like in Bad News Bears.  Bender can be like Walter Matthieu.  The team the PE Crew pick can be misfits, and the ones the Omicrons pick can be professionals!

What are your thoughts on a 200th episode?

I think this should be in the Fan Fiction section.

A writer (I guess Eric Rogers) mentioned the following wish-anniversary plot:
Fry is going to the 20th century, accompanied by the PE gang.

Well, that theme has (in a certain way) been covered by "Game of Tones".
Yet, giving the story a new theme (physically going to the 20th century instead of dreaming it) is still acceptable without being repetitive.

Also, I prefer an epic and rather classic twist for a potential 200th episode.

- The fate of the universe should be at the stake.
- I think it was TUNK who once mentioned that the show still owes Fry a big moment: His rescues always came at a sacrifice. After 200 episodes, a "let a good deed remain unpunished for once" classic plot following the scheme "Get your ass up, be the hero, save the day, get the girl" without any strings attached is certainly not out of place.
(Futurama is usually always at it's best when it does not try to give EVERYTHING a new twist)

His avatar contrasts with the things he says. He's very rarely angry when he's posting on PEEL, although I imagine he was while watching "Leela and the Genestalk".

If Futurama had made it to a 200th episode like Family Guy did...

Wh... Why is Family Guy the "token example of a show that made it to 200 episodes?"

Did not read the rest. :nono:

It could have been a double length episode like Family Guy often does on special occasions.

Here I'll fix that.

If Futurama had made it to a 200th episode like South Park did....

;) That's more to my liking.

God damn it, Kurt.

Shall we torture him?
We will strap him to a chair and replay "Leela and the Genestalk" for hours on end.

That seems rather cruel, MeatablePie. :nono:

Another cool idea for a 200th episode would be one where they go to a planet that's like Vietnam.   And the PE Crew had to make a delivery there.  Zoidberg gets lost in a jungle and gets caught between a battle, but manages to get away eventually.   While there, Zapp has his DOOP soliders fight a war there and Zapp also has his own radio station where he plays Polka.

Then Bender wants to build one and he plays rock music which starts a bitter rivalry between the two.  Also, Fry, Leela, Hermes, and Amy try to teach the villagers how to have fun.   Once Zoidberg is out of the jungle he starts hallucinating that everyone he sees is 'Charlie'.

So basically what you're saying is a good idea for a 200th episode would be a completely ordinary episode?
