God damn, I wish people would stop abbreviating the episode titles. There are too many episodes now for me to keep track of all these.

Couldn't agree more. It's probably my biggest pet peeve about this forum.

Hehe...I always assumed I just did not get (every) abreviation due to being a non-native English speaker :D :D Good to hear that the native ones face the same problems ;)
(It's basically ALWAYS good to hear you are not dumber than the rest...at least not to the degree you initially suspected :D )

It was already a struggle even during the Fox era when we only had 72 episodes. Now that we've got almost double that amount, I think we should stop abbreviating them by initials. There are other acceptable abbreviations that are easier to decipher (ie. people would know what one meant if Roswell That Ends Well was referred to simply as "Roswell," etc.).

The only acceptable abbreviations should be notable later ones, like TLPJF (The Late Philip J. Fry) or the movies. In fact I think the abbreviations started with the movies then it spun out of control from there, but I digress..

Yeah, at least TLPJF and ITWGY are meaningful to use and (to me) like synonyms itself. Otherwise it's very confusing, I rarely recognise the episode from abbrevation, if it's not commonly used before (or clear from the context).

In fact, I propose we should refer to episodes in regulated manner from now on, for example:
{Episode = Futurama 5ACV13-16: Into the Wild Green Yonder}

Let's not forget the long-lost bonus episodes of season 6.

6ACV27: Bender and Hermes Become a Cop
6ACV28: Fry Eats a Scorpion
6ACV29: Naptime for Professy, Part 1
6ACV30: Naptime for Professy, Part 2
6ACV31: Leela vs. The Scrotum vs. The Ghost
6ACV32: Who Threw a Slipper at Amy?
6ACV33: ZOIDBERG: The Musical
6ACV34: Planet Axe-Press (A.K.A. Scruffy Finally Snaps)

SOYJSOY is okay, but it's not nearly as good as JQ8XMF. JQ8XMF makes SOYJSOY look like LFHKT.

Ugh, I hated R. I found it to be worse than even 'RYSBDHBC-P2-FB', which was also an utter crapfest.

Anyway, let's get back on topic. We don't want to let this thread go to crap once again.

The last things I want from Futurama is either:

A One more season, that does not consist of 26 episodes. I'd say maybe 16, like the movies. But they aren't made in the movie format. And I'd like it if they were able to use these episodes wisely, and make them all as good as say, Prisoner of Benda or Cold Warrior standards. Don't need to be perfect, but there should at least be 6 or 7 I can consider Classics. And then I want the series to end after those, and have the writers and everyone KNOW this is definitely how it's ending, and give us the best ending they got.

B That Threatrical Film to end the series with.

The Futurama movies had a rather "bumpy" timing and pacing.
But should they manage to incorporate their experience from the Simpsons movie...yep, go ahead :)
(Though I am pretty sure my permission to "Go ahead" will most certainly not be the main factor deciding about a Futurama movie).

I'm surprised there was never a Full-Out Halloween episode. It could've worked very well as a Segmented episode, with each segment making fun of a classic horror film or something like that. Yes, I know WereCar and Ghost in the Machines are pretty much Halloween episodes,  but they aren't straight up Halloween themed.

Yeah, I'd have liked to see a Futurama-style "Treehouse of Horror".

You know, if it hadn't turned out the same way "The Futurama Holiday Spectacular" did.

You can't judge the prospect of a theatrical film on how the movies that they made turned out. They produced those as season 5 of the show and each movie was designed to work as 4 to be continued episodes, so no wonder they were a bit clunky and so forth. If they were to make a theatrical feature, it would be completely different. They'd be writing the film as a film and focusing purely on making it a good movie, rather than making sure that it also worked as 4 episodes with 3 cliff-hanger endings contained within and so forth.

Yes indeed Lost My Phone.  A Treehouse of Horror would've been cool.      We never did get a Halloween episode of Futurama.

What would it be like?

I wouldn't want an anthology Halloween episode, personally. That'd just be one step too close to the "Treehouse of Horror" episodes.

But a fully blown Halloween episode would be nice. Maybe even a non-canon Halloween special. I always found it a bit odd that they made two almost-but-not-quite Halloween episodes but never a "real" one. They talk about holding production on "Ghost in the Machines" back, in case it was going to have a chance to air around Halloween in the commentary and I know "The Honking" aired as something of a Halloween special despite not being one in any official sense.

I'd especially go for it if it had zombies in it. I'm a sucker for zombies.

I agree, a Non-Anthology special would've been better, despite what I said before. If it was non-canon, like you suggested, it would've been very cool, as there's almost endless possibilities for  Halloween stories.

Now that I think about it, I'd like to have a canonical anthological Halloween episode. In other words, I would enjoy watching an episode with three seven-minute shorts that are actually part of canon. But I don't know if that work work well or not.

I think it's now already so well-established that these triptych episodes are always non-canon, nobody would assume otherwise, even if no events occurred in one to suggest otherwise.

Also, I COMPLETELY agree with this:

I wouldn't want an anthology Halloween episode, personally. That'd just be one step too close to the "Treehouse of Horror" episodes.

I would love a Halloween episode along the lines of the first two Xmas episodes, though. Just in the sense of exploring the idea of how it is celebrated in the future. That alone poses endless possibilities. Mind you, it'd be a bit too far into the show's run to start introducing new annual traditions that Fry somehow never caught word of before.

Right on, Beamer... A full-on Halloween ep would be fun!
'The Honking' does seem the closest we ever got to one, so far?

And for the 'lost' episodes:

"Zoidberg:the musical"
and
"Planet Axe-Press" (Scruffy snaps!)

Would LOVE to see those!

Good idea there, Kataang.  We should've seen more of Fry's past.  Like maybe his parents give him an ultimatium to either get his life together or his parents will take Fry to Texas to marry an heiress.

I think Luck of the Fryrish, Jurassic Bark, Cold Warriors, and Game of Tones showed enough of his life growing up. The show was meant to be about the Future and all of it's quirks, not about character's pasts.

....Honestly, man. Did we not make it clear enough the first time? Did having to completely remove a large number of your posts just to get this thread back on topic not make it obvious that we don't want that crap? Did the freaking posts that specifically stated that we don't want fanfics not come through to you?
This is a thread for what else we would've wanted to see from the series, not what kind of episode plots they should've used.

Please stop posting those irrelevant Fan Fiction ideas, Kurt. They're unbelievably annoying, especially now that you should know that they aren't wanted in this thread.  :nono:

If you absolutely must post your ideas, use this thread, and only this thread. -
