With the show's last breath happening tonight, I thought it would be a fun (and possibly sad) idea to write a funeral speech for Futurama, to mourn it's death while also talking about the good times and the history you had with it.

Basically, talk about the good and bad times it's brought you in your life, and most importantly, Remember It!

I'm going to be writing a Farewell Speech real soon. You should change the title to "Farewell Speech to Futurama".

Farewell Futurama. Over the past year, you have brought me hours upon hours of joy that no other show has given me. You inspired me to want to work into the cartoon industry. No show will ever replace you. And even though you're gone now, I'll be watching in you in reruns. It hurts to say it. But goodbye. You had a great journey.

Have you even watched the past 3 episodes, homerjaysimpson?

I've noticed a pattern with homerjay these past seasons. Wander into random thread, lay down some negativity, disappear to dark corner of the internet from whence they came.

But really, I think this season they saved the horse just before flatlining. Before it got shot in the face again.

I'm glad that dead horse is gone.

That will be my reaction when I read that The Simpsons has been canceled. It's too bad that won't be happening any time soon.

But if you truly think that about Futurama, you might need to watch some of the recent episodes again, especially the last few.

I wouldn't have said it so, uh, bluntly, but I agree with the basic sentiment that it was best for the show to die when it did. This season was good enough, as were the last three seasons--but the show is definitely past its prime, and has surely run its course. I'm just happy it died in a dignified position, and with none of that huddled-over-for-warmth crap.

Ode to Futurama
I almost pooped myself during the show last night.  Futurama makes my guts physically hurt and makes me remember why I quit smoking. If you really do find it necessary to have to end, than man, this last show was the way to do it.  I know time travel, spontaneous mutantional generation, multi-dimensional and multi-versal transport, gender switches and the robot mafia are not really possibilities, but the nerd in me slobbers all over what the possibilities of the future could be.  Science can only be 99.9% accurate.  It’s the other .01% of uncertainty that allows us to dream.  And the talent behind Futurama went way beyond where my wildest dreams ever could have taken me.
We love you, we’ll miss you, farewell.
