Bob's Burgers is a cartoon about a family. Bob is the father, his wife and kids make up the rest of the family (duh), and the family business is Bob's burger restaurant.

So it's an animated sitcom about a middle class family. I've seen a couple of episodes (two that I can think of! Train heist and robot shark!) and it struck me as an amusing show, but not inspired.

I don't think the premise is inspired, but the characters are, and that becomes clearer once you get to know them better. The characters of Bob, Linda, and Tina don't seem to embody any traditional sitcom stereotypes that I know of, or are at least interesting enough variations on established ones. And even the characters who do fit certain tropes still have enough fleshed-out personality to make up for it. It's true that the premise doesn't usually allow for too much high-concept shenanigans (although the show has been able to find ways), but its real genius lies in its eccentric characters and goofy sense of humor. It manages to be odd and ridiculous while staying down to earth.

I've seen bits of Bob's Burgers and it seems like I'd probably like it if I sat down and watched it properly. I don't know if I prefer pink PEEL or yellow PEEL. They're both bright and kind of make my eyes hurt.

Also, it's not even April Fools where I live anymore!

And just like that, PEEL becomes BBEL.

Except every thread window still begins with "Futurama:" and it still says Futurama at the header and footer of each page. Booooo!

Also, Bob's Burgers is fantastic and everyone should watch it. It takes a few episodes to really get into, as it's largely character-based, but the cast is incredible and have amazing chemistry with one another (unlike most animated shows, they always try to record it in the same room as each other, and there's plenty of room for improvisation and the like). The first couple of seasons aren't really anything special, but the show really comes into its own in its third season onwards. :)

God this place looks fugly with yellow coloring...

Anyway, to keep some actual news in the thread, here's the next 2 episodes.

I Get Psy-chic Out of You

After predicting that a telemarketer is calling the restaurant when the phone rings, Linda and the kids believe that she is a psychic.

The Equestranauts

Tina attends her first Equestra-con, a convention based on her favorite animated pony show, "The Equestranauts." To her surprise, she finds that the show's fans are middle-aged men called "Equesticles". When a powerful super-fan tricks Tina out of her rare toy pony, it's up to Bob to go undercover to get it back.

Really excited for the MLP episode (equesticles), the psychic one also sounds good.

Bob's Burgers is OK, nothing to write home about.

I've seen the first Season of it, the kids are the best characters. The grown ups are pretty unfunny.

Everyone here should watch Gravity Falls... It's amazing.

Just heard the Simpsons/Futurama crossover episode will be in the fall?  Can someone help me with this?   Seen Gravity Falls.  It's fine.

It could still air as the season finale in May, but probably won't b/c of the Kang and Kodos' episode, "The Man Who Came To Be Dinner", most likely airing in it's place as the season finale in May .

I presumed that WitchRaven asked here, rather than chasing down leads and rumours all over the net, in the hopes that one of us might already have the definitive scoop and/or perhaps some interesting insight.

All sarcasm aside, this very topic was discussed in pretty great detail on the previous page of this thread.

Some sources are saying it'll be the season 25 finale (which would mean it'll air around May), others are saying it'll be the season 26 premiere (most likely around September sometime), but we don't have a concrete answer yet.

Al Jean confirmed Simpsorama will air sometime in fall this year, but not as the Season premiere since that'll be the death episode. http://www.givememyremote.com/remote/2014/03/04/the-simpsons-al-jean-previews-the-upcoming-lego-episode-the-return-of-sideshow-bob-guest-spots-by-daniel-radcliffe-zach-galifianakis-and-more/ Assuming Fox still knows how to advertise their programs well, they'll air Simpsorama and The Simpsons Guy the same night, creating alot of hype with their "Simpsoncrossoverpalooza".

I said I "didn't want to wait over a year". Didn't want to. I'm not saying this relative to now, I'm saying it relative to as far back as say, 9 months ago when it was first announced.

The Simpsons/Futurama crossover will air on November 9th, around the time in which the 4th episode of the season usually airs.

Well, since I accidentally posted here, I might as well say I'm kinda disappointed with the air date for Simpsorama, I was hoping we'd have it around the end of September. :(

With the Family Guy crossover airing around that time, it was highly unlikely that Fox would want to air two potentially large ratings stunts on the same night. I am a little concerned about how many "out there" Simpsons episodes will be airing next season, with the Treehouse of Horror episode airing so close to the crossover and the postponed Kang and Kodos episode apparently airing sometime next season - I was really hoping the show would stick to the relativity normal episodes that, while usually considered dry and boring, were the highlights of last season in my opinion (with the possibly exception of the Lego episode).

Here is our first look at the Futurama/Simpsons crossover.

I'm glad that, by the looks of that clip, the episode will dive straight into the Futurama universe and explain how Bender must travel back in time within the first few minutes. I was worried that the there would be so much scene-setting and exposition that the story wouldn't be able to develop and be paid off in enough time.

I was just about to post that.

The little Bart gremlin things look like they're going to be the thing that Bart does that means that Bender has to go back in time to kill him. Strange.

Also worth noting is that at the Comic Con panel that clip is from, Matt Groening said that no plans are afoot to bring Futurama back, but that some of the show's staff are meeting up for a waffle breakfast tomorrow morning to discuss options, so that's something.

Holy crap, it looks pretty awesome (especially the animation), based on that short clip anyway.

Notice the head of Jebediah Springfield lands next to a plaque that reads:

Ralph Wiggum
2006 - 201?

It'll probably say 2014. Also, there's a billboard for "The eBook of Mormon". :laff:

It's good that they're still exploring other ways to come back. I honestly thought at this point they gave up on trying to bring the show back, which I'd be perfectly okay with. Still, great update though!  :D

Here's to hoping we can get at least one more movie or Season.  :)

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them decided to wait until after the crossover before really focusing on getting it back - that seemed to be David X. Cohen's attitude in an interview last year, anyway.

Apparently the opening tagline to "Simpsorama" is "A show out of idea teams up with a show out of episodes."

Not a bad start to things, I must say.
