Why does everybody assume its gonna stay frozen? It might not. And they wouldn't necessarily need to explain what happened after Meanwhile, because it could be months afterwards.
The linked article mentioned something along the lines "Fry getting Leela, with dire consequences for the universe". Fry getting Leela seems to be some final outcome. As the "dire consequences" are mentioned along Fry/Leela, it's tempting to assume these are also permanent. I'm not saying that assumption is correct, of course.

Have none of you considered that this wedding isn't exactly "official"? Time is frozen. No one knows about it but Fry and Leela. Technically they won't be legally married.

When I watched the vid and scrolled to that scene: suddenly I automatically thought "Gorky??" I wonder how Leela name will be changed on the infosphere Leela Fry Fry Leela Or Turanga-Fry Leela
Well...I second Danny's "not completely official" statement. But let us look how the name thing will be handled: Of course, both could keep their normal name*. Also , some might probably complain that it does not have to be the woman changing her name. Yet in this case: The last name "Fry" is also the protagonist's name. Not really something that should be changed. Fry taking Leela's name is therefore not really an option. "Leela"'s first name (by which she is usually adressed) does stay unchanged, no matter what happens to the family name. Also, "Turanga" is not too often mentioned. The least frequently mentioned name is therefore the one most acceptable candidate for a change. "Leela Fry" sounds as if someone just mentions the two characters. The same with "Fry Leela". "Turanga" already sounds strange amd unusual by itself, adding the syllable "Fry" will not change that. So I suggest "Turanga-Fry". When speaking both names, most speaker go splightly more up with their voice when pronouncing the "a" at the end of Turange, while the "y" at the end of Fry is spoken slightly deeper (just a very tiny bit). A voice going higher suggest a continued phrase, while going deeper the end. So, as "Turanga" implies a continuation more than "Fry", based on the above information Leela Turanga-Fry
is the most logical one. *One last addition: In relationship matters, Leela was usually shown very traditional (expects to be invited for dinner, etc...). Her weddings also looked very traditional. So, "both characters keeping their own names" is possible, but contradicts the previous writing on her.

I don't think the writers would bother going over a detail like that (maiden/married names) unless they saw a good joke in it. At least from my experience, a married woman keeping her last name is something people don't mind. Have none of you considered that this wedding isn't exactly "official"? Time is frozen. No one knows about it but Fry and Leela. Technically they won't be legally married.
How do you know that?

How do you know that?
Seems pretty obvious from the picture of them in the church. Bender is in the exact same pose from in the clip when the universe freezes. Nibbler looks frozen too. Also, even DXC has hinted at it: We decided to give fans Fry and Leela’s wedding, although, of course, in a twisted sci-fi way. Source.

It could be a coincidence. Could not. I'm gonna start staying away from this thread. A little late now, but...

He's not in the exact same pose. If you look at his mouth, in the clip it's risen up. In the picture, he has a bottom set of mouth there, and the middle part is gone to make way for his beer. Just a little nitpicking. I don't think it'll end up like Danny's way, to be honest.

Plus, it is a promotional image as opposed to a screenshot. They're not always 100% accurate when depicting scenes from the episodes.

Also, is the ending really spoiled? What if time unfroze at the very last moment?
We don't know what the ending is for sure, we're just speculating based on not-100%-confirmed evidence. Where was this wedding photo posted?
Originally here and then the bigger & better-quality version was posted here, but I'll re-post it for this thread:

Ironically Katey Sagal is in this situation, she is married to Kurt Sutter but still referred to as Sagal
Yea, but most celebrities keep their maiden name after getting married. Taking their husband's name would confuse fans. And since not all, but most celebrities get divorced within a few years, or sometimes even a few months, it would be kind of pointless.

Well they have been married for almost 9 years
Yup. Still, she probably kept her name to avoid confusion. I'm just saying that it's rare for a celebrity marriage to last that long.

I wonder what will happen to Marianne if Futurama is revived? Will she just mysteriously vanish like Colin in the Simpsons Movie.

It's common to keep your original surname after marriage in the entertainment industry. Also, show runners count as celebrities now?

Yeah, but would anyone outside of the "obessive tv nerd" clique even know who Kurt Sutter is? My knowledge of show-runners, writers, producers, etc. in the tv industry is pretty extensive, but hey, most of the world doesn't post on a forum for an animated sci-fi comedy series. I don't expect the average joe to know the names of any of the show runners of the shows currently on tv, the same way I can't name any current pop stars/reality show trash/sports players/etc. EDIT: AV Club have just put up a feature interview with David X Cohen: http://www.avclub.com/articles/david-x-cohen-on-the-trials-and-errors-of-love-com,102408/

Interview: Katey Sagal on the series finale of FUTURAMAShe sounds very positive about the show coming back. ‘Futurama’ Series Finale: David X. Cohen Dishes If “Meanwhile” Is Really the End“In my heart I feel like it really is the end,” says Cohen to TVGuide, adding that he’d been proven wrong on the matter before, though “Meanwhile” provides effective closure to the series. “Part of it is that the episode is so satisfying to me. It almost feels like we’d be wasting it if we came back again… But on the other hand, I’m reminded that I did say that with full conviction at least twice before, so people don’t seem to believe me. My opinion has been shown to be not of much value in predicting the future on this one subject.” In other news: Futurama ends with a proposal, a time crisis, and our many, many tearsIf we know this show, it will find a way to tug our heartstrings as it heads into the great beyond, and with Fry proposing to Leela while the fabric of time itself rips apart, we suspect we’re right. By the "fabric of time" ripping apart, do they mean the universe freezing or something more?
Futurama series finale tonight. Sadness mixed w/ great pride. And the ep is the perfect end to the story. Please RT/watch. #Futurama Source.

Knowing Futurama, it could be something bigger,
Perhaps! Some of you may remember this picture tweeted by Lee Supercinski back in late-February: The tweet said: #Futurama Peter Cole (Left) & Scott Schirle (Right) @ the sound mix for Futurama 726 "Meanwhile". Coming Summer 2013

This may sound kind of stupid, but the stages of loss accurately shows how I feel about Futurama being cancelled. I think I'm probably at Stage 3 right now, maybe closing into Stage 4. I feel like I've done too much bargaining, and hoping, and may be losing all hope now. Just the way I feel. I'm really getting upset that today's the end. It's kind of making me really sad.
