I really liked the racing plot, and it's the sole reason I consider "2-D Blacktop" the most underrated episode of 7B.

It's an episode with few faults for me, but admittedly, those faults are pretty significant.

Yep, that exactly how I view it as well.

-The verbal abuse thing is possible the worst "joke" on the show.
-The 2D world was underused and had a very weak connection to the main plot.

On the other hand, I also found it pretty funny and it has some of Futurama's best animation ever.

The animation was great in every episode. It puts other cartoons running at the moment to shame. The Family Guys and Simpsons' have no excuse for their dull character expressions and locations when a show with considerably less budget is providing such a treat for the eyes.

I'd say SMFP or maybe Assie Come Home was the weakest for me. I'd watch them again, because there's no episode I hate or wouldn't re-watch, but for me those were noticeably lower quality than episodes like Game of Tones or Murder on the Planet Express.

I like the funeral scene in Forty Percent Leadbelly, but that's about it.

Forty percent leadbelly, hands down. Most of the episode was pretty crappy in my opinion.

I think "T.: The Terrestrial" and "Fry and Leela's Big Fling" were pretty damn boring, to be honest.

I'll agree with Big Fling. Really not all that. It only seems to be held in high regard by the shippers, though.

"T.: The Terrestrial" had the opportunity to do something with the tired trope of the young man coming of age and defying his father.  An opportunity which went completely to waste.

"Bling Fling" is probably held in high regard as it offered something new.
The first run introduced the characters, we got to see their personalities, their habits, their demeanour...to cut a long story short, we saw a new side of each character in the first few episodes.
Later on, it settled. Sometimes, one might act against his/per personality. But -generally speaking- no new surprises.

FaLBF showed for the first time Fry and Leela acting as dedicated couple over the episode (and not just some throwaway gags).  ImhO, the episode gained quite a lot from that "something new to show even after over 100 episodes" aspect.

Eh, maybe, but they had been an established couple before that too. In season 7a, I mean. Butterjunk Effect, Zapp Dingbat and Fun on a Bun all sort of happened/worked because of Fry & Leela being a thing.
