Seeing as you said it won't be looked over by any Futurama writers, I hope he keeps everyone in-character. I have a feeling the characters will sort of act like shallow versions of themselves.

However, It will be cool to see the crew one last time after Meanwhile, as a sort of reminder that all is well in the future.
I'm getting more and more exited for this episode as the end inches closer and closer....

I'm hoping the crossover isn't canon.

I think, at worst, the crossover will be canon within the universe of The Simpsons - mostly because they just don't care any more.

I can't imagine any way it would (or even, possibly could) be canon for Futurama.

I doubt it will be canon; I imagine it's going to be more like a celebration of both shows at once, showing the good satrical humor of Simpsons (or at least old Simpsons), and the cool Sci-Fi references of Futurama.
If anything, it'll be interesting to see the characters from both shows become friends/enimies, even if it's not in canon. I can imagine Fry/Bart, Bender/Homer, Leela/Lisa, Farnsworth/Burns, Hermes/Smithers, Zoidberg/Cletus, and Amy/....Maggie(I Guess.....) combos working pretty well, as the characters would all have somewhat similar intrests.

Exactly. Unless they don't make them married :(, but chances are they will.

I said Leela/Lisa because they both stand for animal rights, feminist rights, and many other similar things.

Well, I really wouldn't like to see these pairings at all, because I can't see them not being boring/awkward and not taking the time from actual plot. I think referring to similiar chacters' characteristics won't be even funny as a joke.

Yeah, I hope there isn't too much focus on pairings. I'd rather it be a big group dynamic, like when Universe A interacts with Universe 1 in "The Farnsworth Parabox".

Especially as the episode is only going to be 22 minutes long, as far as we know. If they had 2 and a half hours to play with, then I'd like to see every pairing possible, like they gave us in The Avengers, but with only 22 minutes to play with, I'd rather the focus be kept on the plot, rather than character interaction.

They were also picked on as kids by other kids. In fact, I think Leela noticed this happening to Lisa in one of the comic crossovers and stood up for her.

While I do admit it'd be nice to see interactions, I agree with Cyber-Turnip that I'd rather see a good plot than a boatload of unnecessary pairings. I also hope the crossover is canon for Futurama, rather than the Simpsons. I love the Simpsons, but I want to see how the Futurama characters are doing one last time. It would also be cool to see how Fry and Leela being married effects the entire Planet Express group as a whole. It'd just be nice to see a little more canon Futurama after the maybe-series finale.

Monster Robot Maniac wouldn't it more likely be Farnsowrth/Frink than Farnsworth/Burns?

Someone posted this on that No Homers forum.

I know that Maurice La Marche isn't going to be negative about it, be he sounds very enthusiastic.

Also, is this the first confirmation of him being in the episode?

If they want it to be cannon then at the end it zooms out and we see Farnsworth looking at the What-If Machine saying something like "so that's what would happen if we met tv characters from Fry's time!"

So, when Simpsorama finally does air, will we make a review thread for it the same way we did for regular episodes, or will we just discuss it in this thread?

Seems this is good place as any, to discuss the SimpsoRama episode, Monster-Robot-Mania...

Any Idea yet when this likely will air. Somebody post the airdate when known!

I was jazzed with the Simpsons/Futurama comics crossover, and the guest cameos
by Bender in Simpsons, so this will be an awesome night. Can only improve the
quality of The Simpsons recent seasons as well  ;)  (of which I have rarely watched...)

I'd like it to get a proper review thread to keep it in line with all the real episodes, personally. Plus, that way there can be a poll for people to rate it.

So yeah, it's completely down to personal preference, but my vote is that it gets a review thread.

It's small, but the word "Simpsorama" is on the front of the script.

I don't think I've seen any confirmation that Lauren Tom will be in the crossover. Either she didn't want to do it, or it just accidentally wasn't confirmed. If the former is true, I still assume that Amy will be in the crossover as a nonspeaking character.

Even if Lauren Tom isn't in the episode, I'm sure one of the Voice Actors from The Simpsons can do a pretty good impression of Amy's voice.

As far as alternate actor voice-overs go, I love the Futurama out-takes,
where David X. fills in for Leela's or other character voices!

What would anyone love to see or hear in the Simpsorama episode?
(even if it was already taped)

I'l love to see/hear Bender and Ranier Wolfcastle head off to a strip club bar and
tell everyone: "Hasta la vista, Meatbags!"

It would be kind of weird if Hermes and Zoidberg appeared, but not Amy. I imagine she'll be in there in some capacity. It's not like The Simpsons can't afford the entire cast - they're always splurging money on guest stars.

I was initially expecting a far more streamlined plot, only featuring Fry, Leela, Bender and, possibly, The Professor, but from the sounds of it, it's going to be much bigger and feature everybody. I mean, hell, Maurice La Marche is in it.

I just wish the thing was going to be longer than 22 minutes. I can't see how they could possibly do it justice within 22 minutes. There's still a chance that it'll be confirmed to be longer, but I think we would have heard something about it by now if that were the case, and they've done over 500 episodes without ever doing a double-length episode before (unless you count "Who Shot Mr. Burns?", I suppose), so it would be odd for them to start now).

I dunno, Fox apparently hacked the budget quite significantly recently.

I definitely hope that, if all the PE crew appear, Amy at least shows up.

I'm sure they'll come up a way Amy not to talk, they have experience with Maggie in future episodes. "Would you shut up already, Amy, The Simpsons season 1025 premiere is on TV!"

Yeah, but look at the ridiculous amount of guest stars already confirmed for season 25:
Christiane Amanpour, Will Arnett, Stan Lee, Rachel Maddow, Elisabeth Moss, Joe Namath, Gordon Ramsay, Aaron Sorkin, Eva Longoria, Daniel Radcliffe, Kristen Wiig, Zach Galifianakis, Harlan Ellison, Anderson Cooper, Judd Apatow

They're clearly not scaling back on the guest stars. The budget cuts are basically just meaning that the regular voice-actors aren't getting the absolutely gigantic pay cheques that they used to get, this season, and are, instead, getting absolutely gigantic pay cheques that are only a fraction of what they used to get paid.

I imagine it varies greatly depending on how big a star the person is, how much they want to be on the show and how big their role is.

Sorry to double-post, but I think this information may be worth seeing.

According to this article, "Simpsorama" will be The Simpsons' 25th season finale. If my math is correct, the season finale will be on May 18, 2014.

Then again, I'm not sure whether or not they're just making the assumption that the crossover will be the season finale, because I've also heard it might be the Season 26 premiere (if, God forbid, there is a Season 26).

Treehouse of Terror eh? Well, Al Jean already confirmed Simpsonrama will either be the Season 25 finale/Season 26 premiere, so the article is likely correct (though could easily be moved by Fox like Season 24's original Season finale).

The episode is now officially going to air as the finale to the 25th season of The Simpsons (as opposed to the premiere of season 26).

Source.

That's cool. It means we get it 4 months earlier, or so.

Cool. So we only have to wait seven months (which I'm sure will go by relatively fast). Let's just hope it's a good episode; since he's written for both shows, J. Stewart Burns might be able to pull this off. We'll see.
