I've found Leela's feelings to be a very interesting aspect of the series. She's had to face alot of trials in her life (Orphan Childhood, bad dating experience etc.) and is the centre of reasoning in the series leading to her often being annoyed with the antics of the rest of the PE crew and alot of jokes are at her expense. However, she seems to take alot of satisfaction in her status as a female spaceship captain and does see the PE crew as her genuine friends, she also has alot of affection for Fry and the Fry/Leela relationship is often depicted as one with a very happy potential.

Wrong subforum. That really belongs here, rather than in General Discussion. If you're lucky, a mod will move it. If you're unlucky, a mod will move and then close this thread, because you don't really seem to have a point around which to generate discussion so much as a single point of observation about which there really isn't much to say.

Welcome to PEEL. Try harder.

They kinda have a thread like that, it's called "When the ship hits the fan" at the moment.

It's in the Human Resource Department section of the Forum.

Yeah, that's not made terribly clear in either the thread title or the first post. I can tell you're new. Not just from your rank, registration date, and post count, but also the fact that this was posted in the wrong subforum, and it's not really inviting discussion so much as making a relatively  incoherent point that doesn't seem to anticipate a response.

Besides which, Leela has become something of a bitch lately, and I know I'm not the only one who just isn't as interested in her feelings as I would have been three or four years back. I'd guess that's partly why we don't have a "Leela's feelings" thread currently active other than this one.

We do have a shipping thread though. Click here.

At least regarding her relationship, Leela has so far been shown rather happy in season 7B.

- Season 7A upheld a running gag series of Leela being the one making approaches, with Fry rejecting her ("Not Now, Leela").
- Season 7B held up the following theme so far (though it's difficult to judge from two relevant episodes so far): Leela is rather satisfied with her relationship, mostly shown in a sexual context. So, this season's running gag might be "Leela being happy for getting it really good, but not realising there is some catch to it" (Being observed by a horde of monkey, making out with Bender instead of Fry).

This theme features certainly more dirty undertones than before.
Yet, the "Not now, Leela" running gag worked rather well.
Establishing another, related running gag certainly has the potential to work.

When observing from season 6A, a line seems to unfold:
- 6A: Couple like approaches, but certain reservations.
- 6B: The on/off relationship is mostly off. At the end, Leela realises that she does not really value the "off" (Though the writers should have done so without making her look like some selfish bitch).
- In 7A, she was the one having to make more approaches for once (which bears some deserved "cold shoulder" when looking at 6B).
- In 7B, they are so far a commited couple. Many fans feared a constand "lovey-dovey" might be boring and unfunny. Yet, so far, their sex life has always been shown with some catch to it. Hinting that their relationship will not make the plots easier or more dignified for them.

All in all, their relationship from 6A has followed a rather plausible long-term development. (Though 6B seemed a bit like a mess).

I don't think it worked very well. It wasn't related to plot and seemed (to me) like just easy reminder of their relationship. And if it was supposed to be a background joke/fanservice, it was too long/obvious being part of the plot. It just felt they didn't fit in the episodes they were in.

I agree. It was hilarious the first time, but by "Near-Death Wish" it became really tedious.

No Dee dee dee. He was responding to the newbie's improper posting etiquette. That does not change the fact that L4EV's post did not invite discussion on the thread topic.

I agree 100%. A bit humorous the first time, very tiresome every other time. It really doesn't help that I'm not a shipper. In fact, I'm the opposite of a shipper. An anti-shipper of sorts.

By the by, welcome to PEEL L4EV!
