Wow, I saw a preview of Assie Come Home as well. Nice to see a return of the Porn Monster. It looks like this is where the season starts to go uphill. Calculon 2.0 was good. But nothing more. And I like that. All I expected, as well.

I just saw the clip for next week's episode......Looks great. Just the amount of fun I remember seeing on "Duh-Vinci Code".

Thanks! Loved Fry in that clip.
Yeah, the Fry/Leela interplay was pretty funny. I liked her PSA-like line about gang violence, and the way Fry just confusedly shrugged it off. I have no idea whether or not "Assie Come Home" will be a good episode--that clip was solid, though the stuff with the gang members may have gone on a wee bit too long--but if it is a trio-focused episode along the lines of, say, "The Honking"--or even the (unfairly, in my opinion) maligned "Forty Percent Leadbelly"--I could totally be on-board with it.

I keep telling you guys all the freelance scripts will be great. And that all the final episodes will be good, perhaps even Rowe's last episode.
It was the regular writers who got burned out this year in the middle of the 26 episode order, It was quite obvious around "Naturama" they got burned out.

Here you go.
That made me... cringe. *shudder* That the Cruds and Quips or whatever had green skin didn't matter--you could still hear the urbanized accent that is the stereotype of gangbangers. Yeah, okay, it's probably not a stereotype but an accepted truism, but such a similarity to the world we live in just makes it out of place in Futurama. And it just didn't strike me as funny. They're like that streetracing gang in the horrible 2DB episode. This seems like something that the Simpsons would come up with. I'm hoping that this episode has much better content.

Well, most likely that's all we see from those gangs, afterall, they are dead after that scene. And we've seen pictures of bottom of the sea and that porn-shop monster, so it's likely to be asstrio-focused with all kinds of encounters. I think it's kind of plot that I could like very much (like Free Will Hunting), but it may fail easily (like Free Will Hunting (partly)).

Also, did anyone else think the animation looked slightly...off in that clip? I can't quite put my finger on what it was, but it didn't seem quite like normal to me.
There are imhO two reasons for that: - The gangs displayed "gangsta style posing" looked unfamiliar. With the speaking folks displaying exagerrated movement. - Due to large groups, only the 1-2 "forground" characters were fully animated, the rest remaind very static. In front of such a static background, unfamiliar/exaggerated movements look even more obvious.

I think Leela and the Genestalk has a potential to be a great episode, reading the plot. Seeing the spoilers for it, a lot of great characters seem to be in it. If you think about it, most Leela-based episodes have been pretty good.

The episode Game of Tones is going to be a great one probably because I think it will finally reveal if Leela is "The Other" and might reveal the importance of Nibbler's shadow in ITWGY.
Nibbler's shadow?

It has been thought about a lot here in PEEL and general opinion is, they really aren't very good.
Though I've had the DVD set since December, I'm just now getting around to listening to the 7A commentaries. On the "Zapp Dingbat" track, the episode's director actually says--and no one else, be they writer or actor or animator, disputes this claim--that Leela episodes are no fun to do. While I suppose I can sympathize with a predominantly male staff having a hard time relating to a female character, I personally enjoy most Leela-centric episodes; however, I definitely found it amusing that even the people who produce the show are not too keen on those same Leela episodes that PEEL as a whole tends to dislike.

Yea it probably is nothing but still I hope they mention "The Other" because this looks like the only episode left (besides the finale) with the nibblonians making an appearance. [/quote]
I don't think so. At comic con this year, David X Cohen said that they had more stories to tell and that fans knew there was a question left unanswered. I do have a theory about the whole "the other" thing, though.

I'm going to make a $100 bet that we're going to see Robot House on next week's episode.

Man, I just realized that since Season 6, they really put all of their effort into the last episodes of the season.
Like when Season 6 ended, it ended with Cold Warriors, Fry Am The Eggman, REINCARNATION, which were all very good episodes. And those episodes were among the final six of that season!
This season sounds like it has the same scenario, judging the plots of these next six episodes. I mean they sound more Futurama-ey than what we've seen this season so far.
I like it, but then I don't like it. Why can't they think of good plots like that for every episode? Is it really that hard to find a sci-fi plot that can really work? Oh well, it could just be me.
