Somebody should ask Eric Rogers if we'll ever see the Professor without his glasses during the last season.

Might be for a split-second that we see the Professor without glasses, if they do show the Professor without glasses. Maybe in the series finale...

I don't think they will, i saw him without in that comic and it looked weird... they'd rather have us remember old glassy professy

Yeah, no kind of eyes would not look weird at this point. It's funny, I never realised I'd never seen his eyes until Amazon Women in the Mood. I'm amazed they haven't done a joke pointing it out yet, I mean an explicit one.

I have heard that in the comics you can see what the Professor's eyes look like without his glasses. Any truth to it?

Right here.

However, the comics are considered to be non-canon in terms of the show's canon, so I don't think it's official or anything.

Oh dear, no! now I can't unseen that and well,I really like the comics, some ideas could be good canon/TV series episodes.

I mean, they've done some pretty unsubtle visual nods to it where his eyes are obscured by things - or am I imagining things?

And things such as Mom talking about the colour of his eyes.

I see a lot of people think Futurama is coming back to Fox or coming to TBS b/c of this American Dad! business.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/07/16/american-dad-is-moving-to-tbs

I would not hold my breath... but it'd be sweet if the new Fox line-up was:

6 -Encores
630 - Murder Police/ Other New Shows
7 - The Simpsons
730 - Futurama
8 -Family Guy
830 - Bob's Burgers

A man can dream... a man can dream.

Note: I hate FG but it's not going anywhere, it's ranked #7 with advertisers, and Simpsons is still #6.. somehow.

At the very least TBS could pick up Futurama and pair it with A.D! and start their own animation block.. with hookers... and black jack!

MuchAdo, I wish.......

But to be honest, I'd like Futurama to stick around for one more season. I mean, I think 8 is enough. 9 might be a bit too much, since it would be SEASON 9! But I wouldn't want to see it go down the drain, either.

The 4 beginning episodes of this season was really mixed. Only last weeks was truly a great episode. So I mean lets hope that they are actually getting back on track here. And maybe TBS will consider it. It would do the series good. Having Comedy Central tell them to get dirtier is probably what ruined Season 7A for some people.

I'm kind of hoping Futurama doesn't get renewed. As much as I adore the show, the quality is beginning to slip and I'd rather it quits while it's ahead.

Another interesting thing to point out though is that so far in 7B, the general reception for each episode (by which I mean CGEF ratings, which is unfortunately the most reliable source at the moment) has gotten progressively better if you go by production order.

In other words, 40LB < 2DBT < TTT < FALBF < TIT. Now, I don't expect this trend to be maintained the entire way through (nor do I agree with the exact order), but it's interesting nonetheless.

Sounds to me like they got burned out half way through the 26 episode order.
Recharged and picked it up again for the final episodes of season seven.. now the FINAL episodes of the series.

I bet this 'fun pit' episode may stink, but the rest of the season will be great.

Did you like Reincarnation, MuchAdo? Because it sounds like it'll be more similar to that as opposed to the other three-parters.

Please tell me that this might be close to as great as Reincarnation. That is one of my favorites!! I mean the PurpleBerry Pond Animatic was pretty good. It's kinda like how the 8-bit segment of "Reincarnation" was to me.

But I do kinda agree Futurama shouldn't really be renewed, I am content with 7 Seasons, and 140 episodes. I do really think that one more season honestly couldn't hurt. And who knows, that might be their chance to redeem theirselves to old fans and get back on the tracks. Unlikely, it's still possible. I mean look at all the stuff you can do with a Sci-Fi show that takes place in the future, compared to what you can do with a family sitcom. You can do alot more. Also, I'm kinda dying to see that Zapp and Kif episode. They don't exactly look like they're running out of ideas yet.

And hey, I did realize how the user-ratings got better production-order wise too! Maybe this season will get better and better as we go through, and maybe that's why they call it their "Best Final Season Ever". We can only hope, though. We can only hope........

Morbo's Canadian, eh? Sure doesn't seem very Canadian, judging how he talked of getting rid of the human species some time ago (4ACV06).  :p

I just think it would be nice to have one more season. I mean I AM content with what we got. Just saying, one more would be cool. I never said I extremely wanted one more season or anything like that.

If these last episodes blow really badly though, then I'd say hell no for a 8th season, and good riddance.

I think if they ever came back for another season, they really need to try and claw back that extra few minutes of running time. The third act in most of the episodes has suffered a lot without it.

I wouldn't say that. I wouldn't say that until we find out the effects of Calculon 2.0 . This episode was non-canon after all, so they probably think they can get away with more.

In other news, Futurama wasn't nominated for an Emmy this year. :( Bummer, cause Fun on a Bun was a way better episode than South Park's raising the bar in my opinion. I mean I could see why they chose Raising the Bar, but I can't see why they ignored Fun on a Bun? (the episode the team sent). Oh well. We always got next year.

More Futurama news strikes. Well, kinda.

Apparently, some guy named George Watsky wrote a Spec Script for Futurama, involving an episode that has something to do with Fry's hair color.

Not at all. There's actually a youtube clip now soo.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0aViFFde-ZA

And here's the spec script: http://georgewatsky.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Futurama_Spec.pdf

The spec script is........alright. Just read some of it. I didn't exactly like it. It might have worked for a Season one episode.

I read some of the spec script. It was okay I guess. Some of the dialogue didn't really feel right and occasionally fan fictiony, but the story might work for the show with some editing.

As for the clip, it was pretty good. Hopefully this episode will be one of the really great episodes this Season, because this half-Season really needs some fantastic episodes around now to avoid being completely mediocre.

Also, I like the sly callbacks to Ghost in the Machines, with Calculon's ghost looking like Bender's and the Robot Devil's, and Bender mentioned the diembodied software.

I'm hoping the writers join forces and put a lot of effort into this crossover (couldn't care less about the Family Guy one). It could easily backfire on both shows and tarnish the memory of the, hopefully spectacular, series finale.

I have my fingers (and many other limbs) crossed that they do this right...

I'm sort of excited for this even though it's going to suck, because it basically means that we get one more episode of Futurama, even though it'll definitely suck.

With it being produced as an episode of The Simpsons, that pretty much guarantees that it's going to be awful - seeing as The Simpsons is awful nowadays. Hopefully they'll hire in some Futurama writers to write it for them.

Does anyone know if they definitely meant a full crossover episode? The way the article's worded makes it sound like Matt Groening might have just meant a little appearance like when Bender appeared in "Future-Drama".

Why do I have a really bad feeling this "mind-blowing" ending to Meanwhile will be the Futurama cast getting trapped in Springfield, which will then be picked up in an episode of The Simpsons?

Ah, never mind, article says it'll happen in a Simpsons episode.

That's not necessarily true, if it's going to be something different. Also, Groening and maybe Cohen will probably be heavily involved in making it.
