Aww, they are absolutely precious!
I'm especially excited about seeing Zoidberg and the Professor drawn in this style; I have a very hard time picturing them looking in any way cute or cuddly, so I'm most looking forward to seeing how they pulled those two off.

Oh yes, I'm itching to see what good ol' Hubert and John look like as well. In fact, I'm hoping to see everyone like this. :p

Somehow, I feel as though this episode will garner some severely mixed reactions. I'm not sure if it's because it's so similar to Reincarnation, but I'm not setting my standards super high for this one.

You know what they say: a Larry Bird in the hand is better than two in the bush, but not as good as four in a Futurama episode.

This image comes from the “Bendy Boo” segment of “Saturday Morning Fun Pit,” which will feature the gang in three different Saturday morning-style cartoons. Also, the NBA legend himself will be lending his voice to the episode.

He played for the Boston Celtics in the Magic, MJ and Bird era, won a couple of rings.
Once owned the Pacers, I think he coached for them before.

Loving the style of drawing and shading in the background. Nice. The tech (such as the monitor and the machine behind Larry #5) looks funky too. :D

I just got a feeling, that this might be the worst segment of "Saturday Morning Funpit", kind of like how the 8-Bit segment from Reincarnation felt to me. Not so good...  :p But the drawing and stuff of it looks great!

I'm glad we're seeing some pictures from SMF though.

I wonder if it will air at the end of the season, or in the middle of the season, like it's production number....

Middle, Comedy Central has released the Countdown content from each episode in the order that they're gonna air.

And funny, the Scooby-Doo segment is the one I'm most looking forward to.

That's right, I forgot they do that. Thanks Danny, it's going to be weird to have a AOI kind of episode in the middle of a season.......

Also, the scooby doo one used to be the segment I was really looking forward to too, until I saw the Strawberry Shortcake Promo. To me, it looks more promising, and I never watched SSC. Maybe it's just me, and my dislike for Simpsons guest stars that makes me think that.

Anyways, I am totally looking forward to the episode! And the season! Maybe 2D Blacktop will be Mike Rowe's chance to redeem himself to us, since he does a pretty good job on episodes that dont involve Leela.

The reason why Saturday Morning Fun Pit won't be the last episode of the season for one reason only:

Cancellation.

I mean, would you want to go out with an episode that is good or another episode destined for more greatness?

Cancellation.

Or is it, because it's not in the end by production order and CC has kept that order mostly. They didn't know about cancellation, when making episodes, so that can't be the reason.
"Reincarnation" served as a final episode along "Overclockwise" and perhaps they thought it wasn't such a good idea to do it again.

I'd want an episode that's great; regardless of wether it's a three-parter or not. If season 6 was the end, then I'd be quite satisfied with "Reincarnation". And while I'm being quite optimistic regarding the finale, I recognise that it isn't guaranteed to be great just because it holds the title of 7ACV26.

True, true.
Also I forgot that SMFP was not made as an ACV13 / ACV26 for cancellation.
But I do hold a point that I would rather have an episode that can end in a way we may never predict correctly.

This here probably comes closest to a cute, anitmated Zoidberg so far ;)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOHJUrcVdJk

I love that video! I had actually seen it a while ago because of a friend who's a huge Lovecraft fan, but it made me really happy to see Lil' Cthulhu again  :)

Based on what we've seen so far, "Bender Boo and the Mystery Crew" is the section of SMFP that I'm least looking forward to. I think that's probably just because of my complete lack of interest in basketball and the fact that I had no idea who Larry Bird is until hearing about this episode. I am looking forward to seeing George Takei again, though  :)

I don't think not knowing about basketball or Larry Bird will matter one bit.

This is speculation, but given the context here, it seems pretty likely that Larry Bird is being thrown in partially to parody a lot of the actual "Scooby-Doo" episodes of the 70s. After the initial run of "Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?" there was an infamous series called "The New Scooby-Doo Movies," which featured a different guest star (usually though not always played by the actual celebrity) every single week. One of the most infamous of those episodes, in fact, featured none other than....The Harlem Globetrotters.

The Larry Bird cameo is probably a nod to that weird, celebrity-heavy turn the series took in the 70s and perhaps even that one episode in particular. Knowing about the sport probably won't be too important. But that might be going out on a limb.

Maybe that'll be an excuse to use Bubblegum and such.

As I said earlier, Scooby Doo is the only one of these show I'm vaguely familiar with, so naturally that's the one I'm most looking forward to.

If they're smart/go the extra mile, they'll include a cheesy laugh track in the segment.

One of the weirdest things about watching syndicated cartoons back in the 80s and 90s was seeing stuff from the Hanna Barbara era (Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, etc) complete with laugh tracks. No other cartoon (at least nothing from my own era) was anything like that. I don't think they really run those things anymore but "kids" as young as mid-twenties will probably remember how weird those cartoons seemed when run randomly in syndication.

They already seem to have gotten the animation style right. Really looking forward to this one.

That is just adorable! I'm hoping this story is like the Wizard of Oz parody they did back in Anthology 2. I don't remember ever watching Strawberry Shortcake - but I remember having a doll... and a hat? Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

Scooby doo episode? Yeah, I'm up for that, although I don't see what the clone things are for...

So... Scooby Doo, Strawberry Shortcake and what else exactly? Have they told us the third one yet? Or can we guess, because I'd like to point out what I can't unsee:

Oh good.

It's a toy line from Hasbro that sells dolls action figures.

Also a tv series, based on said toy line.

So I take it the Rainbow is more inreference to Strawberry Shortcake, or even just an 80s reference in general.

How do you not know what GI Joe is? What the heck is wrong with you kids these days!

Before Time Keeps On Slippin' aired, I was extremely pumped about it precisely because I assumed it was a Scooby Doo/Hanna-Barbera parody of some sort, and I thought that was an extremely funny and strange idea. It ended up being not Scooby Doo-like at all (a great episode, of course, but not at all what I expected)...so it's cool that we are now finally getting the Hanna-Barbera parody that I always imagined.

I would definitely buy that cereal if someone were to make it; I'd probably just want it for the box, though, since it's adorable  :)

I really like how the layout looks for SMFP; I think the variety will be nice since there seems to be a section centered on the whole crew, a Fry-Leela one, and then a Zapp-centric section.

I think "G.I. Zapp" is the one I'm most excited about, based on the title and brief scene in the trailer alone. I love Zapp, so I hope there turns out to be more of him this season than what it sounds like there will be now.

^I agree with everything that Anna said, are exactly my thoughts.

Even if we haven't seen anything (besides these 2 seconds in the trailer) about G.I Zapp ,the rest look so good! Anyway  they went with Groening's style but in chibi/super-deformed, I dunno ,I was expecting something more...girly? whatever they look so adorable! (I love Leela's hat and stockings/shoes in her outfit).

About the Scooby Doo segment, not bad! seems they got the style perfectly, and even if I don't know who in the earth is Larry Bird, I really dig the clones idea! (also,is just me or the style kinda reminds me to The Beatles?), by the way I hope that there's G.I Zapp in today's update!

And talking about the other previews,I wasn't expecting to see Sean, I'm so excited for that episode now,I want to know more about him!
