I must say I think this episode is rather underrated, it has some really great animation and lighting during that forest scene, a cool guest star, and some great jokes. It's a unique episode for Futurama, I think, because of the non-futuristic setting, but it worked. Great episode. Still not sure how I feel about the twist at the end.

Definitely agree with you on all points there. This is easily one of my favourites from 7A and it's a shame it seems to land in the dumpster of forgotten episodes for a lot of people.

I mean, I'm not gonna go marching around protesting that it's the greatest episode ever, (a few things fell flat here-and-there) but I can confidently say that "31st Century Fox" is an episode that grows on you.

It's a good episode, but I guess at the same time I don't want to it to be as much as with some other episodes I would. It's a solid, but somewhat forgettable episode and the whole ending with chasing Bender is excellent.

That's probably true.

If you freeze-frame the scene when the Planet Express ship flies along the Jersey Turnpike, you can see a hover-tanker that reads "Obey Mom" on the side in AL1.

I think it's a re-used model first seen in Bender's Game, here.

If they put those tanks in the opposite order, it would say: "Mom, Obey" ...

I remember being pleasantly surprised when I first watched this episode. I enjoyed it just as much upon viewing it tonight. It is very fun, it's well-paced, everyone's in character, the visuals are fantasic, it's got a decent plot, and there are plenty of great jokes. I especially love how they explored so many new locales. Some seem to say that this episode is pretty forgettable, but it's probably my favorite episode from 7A (followed closely by Viva Mars Vegas).
