10/10 best post cancellation episode, they finally did a sentimental ending properly. The worst part was the sloth joke but everything else was fantastic. As somebody who hates the Fry/Leela relationship this was really well done and made me appreciate the interactions between them. Not funny - Jersey Shore ref.
The Jersey Shore isn't just a shitty MTV reality show.

Best of the season DEFINITELY!
10/10
In a Fry Meme voice:: Not sure if mind-blowned, or if happy to see such incredible animation!
Animation in this ep was superb! Loved the plot alot, and good explanation of events as well. I can't believe this was pulled off in only 21 minutes!
Liking this season now.....

So here's the thing: I liked this episode. I really enjoyed the story; I really enjoyed how it utilized the characters; I really enjoyed the shippy stuff. But I only laughed out loud once (at Fry's line about the blood from his forehead rushing...somewhere else. Yeah, I've got a classy sense of humor), and overall I don't think this was a particularly gag-heavy episode. And, seeing as how Futurama is above all else a comedy--that is, it's supposed to make you laugh a lot--I feel like saying this episode wasn't all that funny implies that it wasn't a good episode.
However, I kind of like that this episode wasn't traditionally hilarious; I don't mind that it did not contain lines so brilliant that I'll be quoting them for years to come. The dialogue still worked for me--it still did all the things good dialogue is supposed to do--and even if I wasn't tickled pink by every line, or even by most of the lines, I was still incredibly invested in the story and the fates of the characters. That is to say, this episode tugged at my heartstrings without being over-the-top sentimental; it entertained me without being laugh-out-loud funny. And, I don't know, I think that's pretty neat.
There were some things that bugged me, of course: Fry's behavior in act one was a little Homer Simpson-y, the rest of the PE crew tiptoeing around the memory-blanked Leela was a little overdone, and the war in act three might have dragged on a little too long (though I did love the Hermes-sloth joke, and Bender "accidentally" throwing people off of cliffs to win the first place trophy). However, I can overlook those (fairly minor) flaws, because the episode's ending totally nailed it; much like last week's ending, this one tied up all the loose thematic ends and just made me smile. Fry and Leela's Big Romantic Moment really was terrific, and I loved how naturally the two of them reconciled; seeing Leela do the chicken dance while Fry watched was strangely touching, and that whole interaction between them was genuinely couple-y and nice to see.
So, yeah. I hesitate to give this one a 10/10, if only because there were a few moments that didn't sit quite right with me--but it's definitely worthy of at least a 9/10. Really fine episode; it certainly exceeded my expectations.

Now that's what I'm talking about. Mammoth ribs toppling the table... Did they just pay homage to the Flintstones?!
Yes they did. Now this is what I'm talking about, a great Futurama episode! Pretty funny all around and some really nice animation as well. My favorite line: "I broke up with my boyfriend and then I ate him!" 9/10

Maybe I'm just in an off mood, but I wasn't feeling most of the jokes. Didn't laugh very much at this one...but I liked the story. I predict I will like this one more with repeat viewings.
I will give it a 1000000 out of 10, just because I am a positive guy.
Yeah, even your post seems... like you in a downer mood. Until the rating... lol. Watch it again with other people.

TWO THUMBS UP! They nailed this one! 9.5/10.
-The plot was original, crazy, creative, made sense, and flowed beautifully. Everything seemed entirely natural. Great, biting humor, and the references the show's so famous for were consistently excellent. Hermes and the Sloth reminded me of Austin Powers (the cop and the asphalt roller). I loved the Germany jokes.
-The Fry and Leela plot was done EXCEPTIONALLY well. Cheers, Awwws, and laughs were had all around. It was just as funny as it was sentimental, and that's hard to do. It had a couple bumps here and there, but overall, wonderful job. Leela's lost memory sequence with the others trying to avoid saying Fry's name was melodramatic and overdone but I think that was a risk well-taken by the writers, I ate it up. And I got the feeling at the end that Fry's sense of humor seems to be rubbing off on Leela, which I couldn't help but cheer for.
-Zapp was hilarious! So glad to see his bumbling idiocy ruining everything yet again! I saw it coming but it felt just as fresh as it did in his first few episodes. Bender's plot was awesome too! It was fun as ever to watch him use the battle only for the goal of getting the 2nd and 1st place trophies from the other chefs.
Leela is probably the only cartoon character who could look completely badass in an Oktoberfest dress and a chicken perched on her head.

BEST ONE OF THE SEASON THUS FAR! 10/10! Things I liked LOVED in particular (it's quite a list) - Bender in general - entire future Oktoberfest concept - Drunk Fry - Sausage funeral - the "Forgettery" scene/Leela making the connection between her memories again - escape pod escape! - "Uh... what is that, Kif?" - Underground neanderthal haven - epic modern vs primitive human battle - Fry & Leela's orbital kiss! - Restoration of Oktoberfest (as it should be The best episode since The Late Phillip J Fry. Anyone who disagrees can take it up with my formal boot!

Pretty good.
I don't know though, it felt like it was missing something. No idea what though.
Okay. After a bit of thought, I've determined what. It isn't really anything wrong with the episode. Rather, it's easily the most classic-feeling episode of the new run to date. The reasoning behind this is the pacing, which was quite simply perfect. There haven't really been any slow-paced episodes since the original run (okay, you could argue that the movies are slow-paced, but they're different.) and because of this, it felt very unusual. Everything just flowed flawlessly and it made the episode very fun to watch. There were plenty of jokes that worked well. Everyone was in-character (and I might add that seeing Bender behaving was a welcome surprise). And best of all, it had a unique story. I honestly thought that Fry had actually been ripped into delicious sausage, so I found the twist of him surviving to be convincing. Some other things I liked: -The awesome nostalgic moment where it flashed various clips of the series as Leela was regaining her memories. Reminds me of TLPJF, where various classic scenes could be seen taking place in the background. -"This time, I'm the one criticizing the sausage." -The tiger catapult was hilarious, as was Kif's calm reaction. -The crew trying to avoid saying Fry's name. -Bender scribbling with crayons. -"You've been staring at that pumpkin for 5 seconds." -Finally, we get some more Elzar. -"Just this once, I want to be embarrassed by you." There were unfortunately a couple of things I wasn't a fan of. Namely, the beginning with the nachos. It was funny when Fry picked them up with his foot, but just a bit silly when Leela did. Similarly, I loved the gag with Hermes screaming at the sloth. But it was just a little too much when it cut back and showed it again. However seeing them cuddle made up for that. Anyway, I was very impressed by this episode. I may have liked last weeks a teeny bit more, but I feel like this one will go down as a classic. 9.5/10Now, I can't wait to see what DXC has written for us next week.

yes, very good point. I loved this entire nod to "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." i loved the whole symmetry of both Fry and Leela forgetting each other, and longing subconsciously for each other. Their kiss...swooningly epic and felt like a classic movie love scene, worthy of Gary Cooper and Elizabeth Taylor. Did anyone see the battle scene as one giant reference to "Avatar?" "Icht bien I never!" (Sorry for the bad Germenglish.) I loved this line! The ending was terrific; I loved seeing Leela be the loose and crazy one while Fry stands back. Her chicken dance wiggle was off though. A tenth of a point deduction for that. I am exacting like a sausage judge. Gotta watch in the morning when my husband is not there to make a helluva raquet and talk over dialogue. 9.90/10 (okay, 10/10). More later I am sure.

For DotheBartman: This gif file is huge... like 1MB. Sorry it took me so long, had to write out each frame in a hexeditor. This one's a bonus secret: It's even larger than the first at like a 4MB filesize. Only certain browsers will play the animation. Edit: A lot smaller and maybe more usable. I might put more in here later, I dunno. Edit Numero Dos: Still rather large ~1MB. This one might be more useable and funny.

They said it would be great, and it was! From the moment it began with Leela telling off Fry for double dipping (not the eating with his feet) to Fry wanting to be embarrassed for once, I loved it. Bender's murdering of all the sausage winners was great as well as how awesome his colouring was at the beginning.. The sloth joke was great and the reaction from the crew when Leela saw the chicken hat was jokes But the moment on the ship between Fry and Leela at the end was the best. As they were fighting Fry was saying stuff that I thought indirectly applied to their relationship such as the occasional mating But the orbital kiss is what myself and many other shippers have been waiting for and Leela's memories coming back and showing all parts from old and new seasons was really, well, moving :') One of the best episodes ever! 10 /10

Wow, love all the callbacks to a jillion episodes when Leela remembers Fry, and the cavemen vs. modern humans battle was awesome. I like how Fry kind of reflects how we have felt about the Fry/Leela relationship for a while now, "We were going out?!", no one was ever 100% sure until recent episodes. 9/10
