Also, the article refers to season 7 as Futurama's second season. Obviously, they mean the second season since coming back from cancellation, but still.

It also calls Decision 3012 'Indecision 3012'...

Everyone seems to have trouble with the name of that ep, I've seen 'Decision 2012' and 'Election 3012' too.

They actually say 'the second season on its second network', so they are not even being ambiguous on that matter.

Looking back at 7A, I think I was a bit disappointed, though I'm not sure why. It didn't have a single episode that was outright bad, and although there were a few really good ones, something didn't click for me.

I have no idea why, and that's what bugs me.

Personally,  I liked the first half of this season. I recently discovered futurama on Netflix and at the time, I wasn't aware that they were once cancelled. I watched season one through six in a short time period. I loved all the episodes and I didn't notice any change in the quality. Not knowing helped, I guess.

I viewed the lastest episodes and though they were great. I'm especially fond of Fun On A Bun and Zap-Dingbat. Of course that's just me... Anyway, I feel like Futurama is losing their fan-base. Wich is sad, because I think 7A is a good half-season.

"Indecision 3012" would actually have made a much better title.

I agree...

I think it's b/c there was far less truly bad stuff...  but also inversely there was less truly amazing stuff.

It was all pretty good and average.. which isn't a bad thing... but it doesn't make for many memorable moments.

This is a typical reaction from somebody who does not view the Fox production run through nostalgia glasses.  Every person I know of, that only recently started watching Futurama, has stated that they see NO decline in average episode quality on the CC production run.  It's only those people who have had time to put the orginal Futurama run on a pedestal who say so.

I remember having the same sort of feeling about the show during the first run Fox years. It wasn't until the pretty much nightly rebroadcasts on Adult Swim that a lot of the show's  coolness became apparent.

It's a two way street, this whole putting the old run episodes on a pedestal thing. Those that have been committed to the show from the beginning and have had to suffer through the drought of episodes are obviously going to hold the old run in higher regard, and be very defensive to things that challenge its quality. On the other hand, people that weren't around for the old run may hold the new run in high regard, simply because it's new futurama. For me, futurama was my life 2003-2006, before I got bored with the lack of episodes and moved on, and it's only last year that I got back into it. So I'm sort of in both boats. The old run has a place in my heart, but I love the fact that the series is still going.

I didn't even know about Futurama until late 2010, so I don't have particularly thick goggles, if any at all. There are some really terrible episodes in the new run. But there are a few really gloriously good ones and a whole lot of very good ones. And the same can be said for the original run. Y'know, the new run could be a whole lot worse. A whole lot worse.

I enjoyed season 7a with the same consistancy that I enjoyed any half-season in the original run. Same for 6b, actually. I think it just took them awhile to get revved up again.

The voice actors are still recording lines for 7B episodes right? If not, Lauren Tom just kind of confirmed Season 8...

At Futurama today with @phillamarr and Dave Herman, playing Amy, Jrrr, and some tiny aliens, I love my job :)

Jrrr must be Lrrr's son. Probably a 7B recording, since we got a episode about Lrrr's son coming next year.

Jrrr is the poppler that speaks in "The Problem with Popplers" if I recall, correctly.

And I'm assuming it's 7B. I really don't think they could get past the writing stage and all the way into recording dialogue without announcing season 8. Plus, I doubt they'd be working on it so soon. Surely they'd only begin production on it next year seeing as, presumably, it'd air in 2014.

Also, what SolidSnake said.

One of the cast members during the Livestream (I believe it was Matt Groening) said that one episode of the upcoming broadcast season will feature Fry in the Omicronian Royal Palace and Fry converses with Jrr, who we last saw as an infant thirteen years ago, who has now become thirteen years old.

Remember, we probably won't hear anything until the decision to renew or kill Futurama is made in January. Rumors, sure, but nothing is official until then.

I got a good feeling for Season 7B. Sounds more promising than last season did.

Maybe it's going to be like Season 6. The 13 beginning episodes were meh, few good ones, and then 6B brung in some really good episodes! Like Law and Oracle, Mobius Dick, Fry Am The Eggman, Cold Warriors, REINCARNATION!

Hopefully it's like that next season, although I do wish this season was better than it was. It was still pretty good though, I'd average it to a 8/10

Umm, I never really complain when it comes to Futurama. I love this show more than anything! This is my first time saying this! Some people just say this kind of stuff for spamming or just trying to annoy others. But i'm saying this out of concern.

Season 6A WAS great around a 8.5/10. It got better as it progressed. 6B was a 9.4/10 for me. I thought PI, IAGDL, ACW, and LN were the big stinkers of season 6A. The rest, I loved! Except Rebirth, that was like a 7/10. 6B's worst was YLL, ATPH, and Neutopia were the stinkers of that season. Not really bad episodes, but were like meh.

This season was pretty good, but some things felt dry/uninteresting to be honest. But there were a lot of good gags, and very funny moments! My top four for that season right now are Fun on a Bun, The Bots and the Bees, Vivas Mars Vegas, and Near-Death Wish.

I mean it's just my opinion, don't take it so critical.

And we know very little about 7B, but what I've heard about it so far sounds awesome. Better than what we heard about 7A last year to be honest. I'm kinda excited about the Guenter and Banjo one, because I liked Guenter in "Mars University". I thought that episode was really underrated. But I'm not really in it for Banjo though, because I disliked him alot in "A Clockwork Origin". But hopefully, it'll be a good surprise.

What's your point? This is a message board with the specific function of allowing people to discuss their opinions on Futurama.

Also, isn't it odd that Lauren Tom is still voicing Jrrr even though he's now 13 years old? I guess he won't have hit puberty, yet.

Well, here's some interesting news about Elon Musk wanting to build a transportation tube, similar to Futurama's.

If anybody can do this, it would be Elon Musk.  He is without a doubt the most innovative, forward-thinking billionaire today.  He is full of ideas to advance civilization while reducing humanity's ecological impact (and making money for himself, of course).

Naturama showed one or two weeks ago I think. It was during 11s animation fixation.

I just checked the tv guide for this Wednesdays animation fixation

6:00 The Simpsons
(Micro Nation, Neighbours, Everybody Loves Raymond)
7:30 The Simpsons
8:00 Futurama (Obsoletely Fabulous)
8:30 The Simpsons
9:00 Futurama (Bender Should Not Be Allowed on TV)
9:30 Futurama (The Devil's Hands Are Idle Playthings)
10:00 The Cleveland Show
10:30 King of the Hill

But it's no longer showing new eps of Futurama, I think they came out pretty quickly after the US release. I wish NCIS were that much on the ball.
Although I have one beef with channel 11 and that is they have no sense of order: 4ACV14, 4ACV06 and then 4ACV18?!

Remember how Cubert used to be super-annoying, and then they managed to make him bearable in season 6? The same could happen here.

To be fair, Guenter kind of gets that same kind of redemptive character arc in miniature: he starts out "Mars University" as an annoying, know-it-all foil for Fry--but, by episode's end, he winds up being a fairly sympathetic character.

Which is to say, I don't think the character really needs to be brought back. But, if he simply must appear in a future episode, I sure do hope we get the charming, wearing-a-hat-on-his-butt version of the character as opposed to the more antagonistically irritating one.
