Wow.
There better be an attractive male butterfly fighter to balance out all the male orientated fanservice a bit. Because let's face it, Amy and Leela will be wearing those outfits as well at some point.
Well...should there be male athletes, the episodes runs a great risk of being once again indoctrinated with "Only women make capable fighters" or "Women are physically superior to men in every way". I'm not saying this will happen, but Futurama -of the great cartoon shows- bears the greatest risk of the writers to cheer for that kind of double standard with a loud "Hooray". (On the other hand: No one forces me to watch everything the show serves )

First look at 'The Butterjunk Effect'! With plot info in the blog post:
"Word around the campfire is, the episode finds Amy and Leela becoming addicted to “Nectar,” a nutritional supplement that boosts their performance in the future sport of Butterfly Derby."
Ahh.. I get the title now... "The ButterJunk Effect"... meaning the nectar drug/drink has side effects... sounds fun.. like it could be an interesting Amy and Leela ep. Sounds a million times more original sounding than YLL was. Futurama seems like it's more back on track this season with original concepts and ideas... whilst re-visting old one's that the writers feel are still unfinished... i.e. the Zapp and Leela relationship. I'm getting more and more pumped for production season seven.

I still don't see how the title makes any sense even after reading the description, "ButterJunk"?
The sport is butterfly-related, the "Nectar" is an enhancement that helps them play the sport better, but it probably has some bad side effects, thus making it "junk". We also know it's addictive too.

"BUTTER" from Butterfly, and "JUNK" a probable hint that the mentioned substance/drug has bad "EFFECTS"

Not much new explanation in the podcast apart from what we have already guessed. - Zoidberg and Professor are dressed up as burglars to break into Langdon Cobb's home to find dirt on him. Nothing too surprising there. - Leela does in fact try to seduce Zapp back away from her mom and it is implied that something goes wrong in the process. - One of Turanga Morris' dreams is to ride all of the great sewer waves of the world. Looks like we can expect a montage sequence here of them riding the sewage waves from underneath famous locations. EDIT: Those butterfly outfits are crazy! They remind me of the almighty Monarch.

That's pretty smart actually.

Well I called that... although it's pretty obvious since she was on top and Zapp looks "seemingly" innocent. I have a strong feeling Morris and Munda may not reunite just like the Van Houten's circa classic Simpsons era.

I wonder if the effects of the nectar will bulk up Amy and Leela.

In one of the "Volume 6" extras someone promised a fan-service consisting of Amy and Leela either kissing or sparring. It seems "The Butterjunk Effect" is a perfect episode to do that. Also I think that female butterfly warriors were inspired by " Gwendoline", the movie. It's a nice erotic movie . P.S. BTW, sorry for my bad english. I am trying to do my best . Also Leela even trying to seduce Zapp may piss people off from "Zapp Dingbat". Actually, it ruins anything she and Fry has, regardless of whether seduce succeeds or not / Fry sees that lingerie scene or not.
You people with your 20th century notions of fidelity.
At least we have some traditions of fidelity. Still...

Actually, it ruins anything she and Fry has, regardless of whether seduce succeeds or not / Fry sees that lingerie scene or not. Unless Fry is in on it too, and knows that Leela is only doing it to get Zapp away from her mom. I hope this is the case, as Fry walking in and discovering Leela and Zapp together will set off the Old Cliché Alert.
What I would like to see (though it seems quite improbable): - One role reversal (Leela having to chase after Fry for once, making up for a mistake) subplot. (A plot can that can be told only ONCE, though). - She shows that "It's not what it looks like" face in said picture. Also knowing she cannot anyone expect to actually BELIEVE her. -> I'd like the irony that in this "told only once" subplot with Leela chasing after Fry being on her seeing the need to atone for something she hasn't actually done. Otherwise, I do hope we do NOT get to see "Van Houten MK2" in this episode. In one of the "Volume 6" extras someone promised a fan-service consisting of Amy and Leela either kissing or sparring. It seems "The Butterjunk Effect" is a perfect episode to do that.
Should that be the case, I hope they also do not only use that fan-service for it's own sake, but also build a proper joke around it. The same way they did it in Jurrasic Bark: Leela and Amy wrestling was not really funny, the hilarity was added by giving the random sparring absolutely no context to the plot, and having the male characters ignore them (up to the point with Fry not watching the two scantily clad women wrestling, but sends them away to make room more something as trivial as a DOGGY BASKET )

(A plot can that can be told only ONCE, though). - She shows that "It's not what it looks like" face in said picture. Also knowing she cannot anyone expect to actually BELIEVE her. Remember that Leela/McZongo-crap from 6ACV22? Leela doesn't even care if Fry is jealous or something. If she feels anything subtle for Zapp / just competing with her mom, than she'll do anything she want to take him back from Munda. Fry'll receive an usual lamblike kick in the balls... just because he needs her much stronger than she needs him. Such a slave-like characterisation of F/L relationship is irritating, and it's too old now. And yes, I completely agree with you, Inquisitor: "Leela having to chase after Fry for once"-like plot is highly welcome. Should that be the case, I hope they also do not only use that fan-service for it's own sake, but also build a proper joke around it. True.. we are at page 20.. but it's so close... I'd keep this one open until the new episodes start.
Just my opinion.
