A six hour episode would be too much for one sitting.

I guess the whole season could be a total of 6 hours and just be like longer versions of the movies. As long as they are better than the movies.

Uuuuh, I think he was kidding, guys...

It's possible he's talking about his writing process, sitting there for 6 hours trying to think of something then in 2 hours he wrote lots of stuff...

Yeah I know,. I was making a comment about it being a bad idea if they eve attempted it. I don't think any show or movie should attempt that,

I removed a doublepost. This moved UnrealLegend's post from the top of the current page to the bottom of the last page.

I ruin everything. Just like a moderator is supposed to do!

Something clool would be better. They really need to use that word again on the show. Anyways, sounds like they're steadily working through Season 7 at any rate. Not long before we get to start viewing the fruits of their labours!...

I sure hope they turn the Mary Sue fanfiction I wrote when I was a depressed fourteen year old into an episode!

It's called Captain Moonflower D'arcy and how she Saved the Universe with the Space Unicorns that Queef Endangered Butterflies.

And yes, that's a good thing.

OMFG, Eric:

Interesting news about the show this morning that makes optimistic for our continuing future. And no, I'm not telling you... Yet. #futurama

Notice he said interesting news, not good news or something... Maybe more Direct-to-DVD movies if Season 7 doesn't work out or something?

Wonder when he'll reveal what the secret is...Maybe a return to FOX? That'd be awesome- bigger budget, more staffed writers.

Btw, I'vd been gone a few days, is this "New Management" and awful pinkish-purple background a belated April Fools joke?

Well..until 1.4. 23.59, no one could have been fooled into believing this thing was real. It just HAS to stay a while longer to effectively fool someone.

FEATURE FILM!

Nah, I bet it's just some good viewing figures or a decision from Comedy Central of some kind or some good numbers elsewhere. It'd be interesting if it was something like a return to Fox though... a man can dream.

As I've posted before, in 2009 FOX said they would like to pick the show up again if things didn't work out or whatever with CC...

It's on the Infosphere somewhere, can't find it. :hmpf:

Are any of FOX's "Animation Domination" shows rumored to be ending or being cancelled? I'd love to see pretty much any of them off the air. I just hope if this dream were to come true that FOX will put Futurama on at a later hour than 7.

American Dad! is on the verge of cancellation and I'd be surprised if Napoleon Dynamite gets a second season. Plus Seth MacFarlane says he wants to end Family Guy soon and even the long-term future of The Simpsons isn't all that stable. Oh, and I believe The Cleveland Show's ratings are dangerously low (thank God) although this is just based on things I've overheard others say as I don't follow that one. And I can't imagine Bob's Burgers is a huge ratings-puller, so I'd guess that Fox are getting pretty desperate for a good bit of animation for their lineup right about now.

Wow...that is much better news than what I was hoping for. If FOX knows what's good for 'em they'd surely bring Futurama back. They've brought back less-deserving shows in the past.

I hope this is good news.

If it's anything major, I'm sure it'll be revealed soon.

Hopefully, it's nothing crazy like "Yeah, we can't do a seventh season anymore..."

Oh no. :( Eric:

Animatic for what could be last ep I ever write for #futurama today. Mix of nostalgia/excitement. Weird that end is (potentially) so close.

But also:

To clarify, #futurama friends: we are making 26 to air over next 2 summers. @ComedyCentral doesn't have to make pick up decision til 2013.

You guys are getting too worried too fast.  Futurama is not a show that is as safe as say... Game of Thrones is right now.  HBO just ordered season 3 and 4 before season 2 started airing!

Comedy Central waited half the past season too to make a decision on the future of Futurama.  I don't think they will wait that long this time, but they could be waiting to see if Fox makes a move before they will purchase a new season.

Still, it would not be unusual or out of place for Comedy Central to wait until season 7 actually starts airing to make a move.  I will first start worrying in 2013 if there has been no word yet.

I'm slightly worried and slightly excited...

What's this "interesting news" that made Eric optimistic for the future of the show? Why is he worrying about this being the last season ever when he mentioned that?

When Comedy Central drags their feet before finally making a decision on renewal, there is a chance that writers leave. Maybe Eric Rogers will get a writing job somewhere else and be unavailable if/when season 8 is ordered?

I'm not taking that tweet too seriously at this point. All he's saying is that it's his last episode of season 7, and season 8 is not a sure thing at this point.

I am way curious about this optimistic news of his.

Not being American I didn't know who this guy was, I did a little research (eg. I glanced at his wiki page) and now that I know who he is - Do you think the Harlem Globetrotters will make a return in this episode?
