I undertook a brief search and couldn't find another thread like this, so let the discussion commence!

Occasionally a moment in Futurama is funny because of the sound effects. I personally love these little moments, such as the sound of the Nimbus knocking over the pole in WITHW, or the thud of the Koala falling from the window in TBWABB.

There's many more moments like these, but it would be boring if I did all the talking typing. Post away!

My favorite by far is when Fry's Lucy Liu bot dies and makes that "game over" noise :D

Attack of the Killer App has some really awesome sound effects, such as when Mom is sending stuff to all the eyePhones.

I also enjoy the high pitched "DU-DU-DU-DU" in the intro. Before Season 6 it plays as the PE Ship goes through the 'R', but in Season 6 it plays as soon as the engines blast past the screen.

AKA The Angry Machine.

Seriously. That's what they call the 'thing' that makes the Hypno sound. Listen to the commentaries. :p

Sound effects added to lessen tragedy.

The Hypnotoad noise is the most hilariously unholy sound that has ever touched my ears. It's the best effect, hands down, for me.

The "thud" sound in Prisoner of Benda when The Professor falls through the stage just adds to the funniness of that scene, I think.

Oh yeah. I forgot about the hypnotoad. That has to be one of the best sounds in the show.

Also, I love the hollow "bonk" sound of the Professor hitting Fry with the torch in TDVC.  :laff:

Another good recurring sound effect is the Planet Express ship's airbrakes. And for cringe-worthy SFX, I like the part in Rebirth where Fry takes a baseball bat to Leela's ribcage in an attempt to wake her out of her coma.

the thud of the Koala falling from the window in TBWABB.
I think this wins it for me. I laughed and I laughed hard... all because of that noise.

I'm also a fan of the constant use of 'Star Trek'/'Jetsons' sound-effects, though. Particularly the 'Star Trek' communicator noise being used for someone's phone in 'I, Roommate'.

I think it's in ITWGY, when someone sprays a tree and lots of animals fall out, then an elephant just goes THUD. :laff:

I think so. I only remember it happening on Mars. And I think it happens in another episode where a naked guy drops out.

I think people fell out of trees in both episodes...
