Being a mad film buff like I am, I've trawled through my fair share of crap. This might mean more to the americans who use this board but I was watching "The Honking" and thought to myself "Say, that car looks kinda familiar!" - Yep, look at Bender the Were-Car, then look at this picture, a video cover of the film "The Car"

And if the pic doesn't work (as it invariably doesn't! Crap tripod rubbish shit!) - here's the link

Nice one, Futurama team! A great nod to a great "Trash" film. Watch it if you can find it, it's quite hilarious!

Just in case you were wondering...here's how Bender appeared in that episode...

Interesting... you kinda wonder when the animators get a chance to draw anything if they spend all their time watching B-movies...

Its on a Tripod account. They do not allow direct image links. Click on the link, then you will get a standard Tripod message which leads you to the actual image. After that the image should also be shown directly here, as it is in the cache.

I first saw this film a long long time ago as a kid, and totally forgot about it till I saw Bender in "The Honking" - He is the same shape, has the same expression on his face - I am just gobsmacked at the animators actually remembering what is actually quite a good film (Think Duel, but with a car instead of a truck, and a bucketload more gore!)
Video stores over here in the UK just don't have this film otherwise I would probably buy it - and I don't have an NTSC video so I can't buy it from the states! Wail!

Cool reference though eh?! Glad some of you got some mileage out of it!

(Apologies for the shitty "busted image" thing. Persevere and click through with the link, it does work and it is there!)

Good point! I will have a shufti on Amazon UK (it's a bit pricey to buy vids from the states and pay the import duty - hell, how are we ever expected to become a global economy if we still have stupidly prohibitive import taxes!)

Thanks all the same though dude...!

Its not that alone. Just look at the shipping costs. Sometimes they are higher than the actual product.

the shipping is almost always more expensive usually  around $40us i saw the bender doll for sale at only $19.99us but the shipping was $40us i mean crap!
if you go to the fox store the shirts are only around $35us but the shipping makes that double.

plus you need a good credit card as they wont accept my shitty one  :(

True, I often would have liked to order some merchandise from the US. But the shipping costs frighten me.

Well, almost all stores accept at least the two major cards (VISA and Mastercard). But generally you are right. Its quite difficult to purchase something in the Internet with an uncommon credit card or even without one.
