I personally think this episode is as lovely as the feel of velour on my Pert and Popular-lotioned skin, but what do you folks have to say about it?

Yes, I know that's more a reference to "War is the H-Word"--but I couldn't think of any other pseudo-clever way to open this thread, damn it!

The entire scene on Stumbos 4 is one of Futurama's greatest moments.

Writing on Brannigan was great, and imhO the reason why this still ranks as an above average episode.

Otherwise, it was one of those early episodes I did watch despite, and certainly not because of Leela:

a) Leela is great, perfect (but unfortunately, not really entertaining, and not really a personality in the episode)
b) Everyone else of the crew is a complete idiot and moron, just there to show how great Leela is.
c) Moral of the story: The characters should have done what Leela tells them from the beginning, because...erm...well..she is just great, you know.
d) Moral storytellingwise: When you have one boring character (Leela), don't try to cheer this character up at expense of other, funnier characters, by reducing them to one trick ponies. Improve storywriting on Leela, and do not give other chars the job of trying to make Leela look better.

Well..at least my two cents (I'm also sure only few here will share ;) ). And -as I stated before- I would prefer a still much larger season 6 Leela-bitch to the Leela writing I mentioned above.

Easily the best episode of Season 2, and one of the best of the series.

I love this episode. It is one of my all-time favorites, I think it was in my official top 5.  I love Leela's character in here and do find her reasonably entertaining. I especially enjoy the dynamic between her and Kif. The whole trio is just excellent the whole way through and the relationships between all three members are interesting and well-developed from beginning to the end. I like that there are really only five characters in the whole thing, they didn't cram too many in like they've done recently in certain episodes. Solid story, really hilarious lines, love the DOOP, love Zapp, love Leela, love the montage with Zapp and Kif, love just about everything.

The neutrals made this episode ground breaking. 8/10 Solid.

I thought this was a meh episode. I liked the Stumbos 4 scenes, but I just didn't like the Zapp working with them, and eventually taking over stuff. Seemed kinda stale for some reason. I did like the ending though, where Fry and Bender tell Leela she's the bomb. That was sweet. So I guess I'll just give the episode a 7/10.
