That would be a much better replacement!
But I think we'll end up missing him because the RSS feed wont be so Danny'ish

Replace the lovable rascal with an RSS feed? Never!

Well, okay, maybe we could try it out.

Nah, just kidding, Danny's all right.

Thank you everyone! :laff:

Not much news lately, just Phil LaMarr tweeted an article which is about Katey Sagal. :)

NEWS! NEW EPISODE NAMED!

'Freewill Hunting' (7ACV09)

Taken from this:

As has happened the last couple of years Futurama co-creator David Cohen has donated some exclusive signed Futurama and Simpsons related stuff to auction off for the Canyon School pre-school in LA(that David's daughter attends).
He's emailed me with the listings and also said that if the winner says they saw the item listed through this site then he'll throw in a BONUS signed script cover of NEXT SEASON'S new episode 'Freewill Hunting'(7ACV09). The perfect gift for Xmas, Kwanzaa, or Robanukah!

More here!

Nice, so a Leela ep perhaps? Could be about a lot of things I guess, sounds interesting though...

Danny suggested to me via IM that perhaps it is a Bender episode... Bender realizing that he is "programmed" and the subsequent search for his free will. Or something.

The Monopoly is currently at $300, the Bender figure at $33 and the Simpons Season 6 DVD is at $150, they've got until Saturday. :hmpf:

Free Will Hunting sounds like a Bender episode, or at least a robot one (the whole deal about whether robots are free willed or have every aspect of their personality programmed into them)

On the other hand it could be about human free will.  Maybe Mom or someone similar creates a device that hacks into the brain and robs all sentient life of their free will, turning them into mindless automatons?

I like the title.  It seems oddly bland at first but then it becomes more clever when you think about it.

It could also be about determinism and/or time-travel.

Although, I agree, robots are most likely.

Do yourself a "favor" & listen to Bob Dylan's "christmas" cd this weekend. It exists. And it's "spectacular". #futuramawritersroomdiversions

I think he means Overclockwise was a sucky episode, so it shouldn't be the one they are examining.

Correct! They should have examined Tip of The Zoidberg since that was a good ken keeler ep, or The Silence of The Clamps since we're going to have alot more Eric Roger episodes.

Alright, another episode title revealed by the Copyright Catalog: "Viva Mars Vegas".

The possible plotline of robots and free will in "Free Will Hunting" sounds really interesting. It has the potential to be a really great episode.

Viva Mars Vegas sounds like a great episode, yes.  I really enjoyed the opening parts on Wild Green Yonder.

Though I was surprised they didn't go with the more obvious astronomical pun, Las Vega.  Maybe Las Vega is an even bigger space casino, that threatens to put the Wongs out of business?

Quite honestly, I hate that title and I hope it changes. I mean... it's just so unimaginative and unfunny. It'd be like calling an episode "New New York, It's a Hell of a Town" or "When In Future-Roma". It's just... yuck, I hate it.

I mean, the episode could be great and all, but that title wangs chung.

If I'm honest, I like it a lot better then some of the other recent titles, that really sound like they are trying too hard, like Butterjunk Effect.  I see your point though,

I really think they should use Aloha Mars! for a future episode.  Maybe the Wongs have a luxurious artificial resort complex built, and the go for a holiday?

THey should do an Amy titled episode, since she's the only one of the main crew who hasn't had her name included in a title yet.

That would be pretty sweet. But, considering there was barely any continuity between Wild Green Yonder and the beginning of season six (seriously, it bugs me so much that Leela's status as a fugitive is not once mentioned in "In-A-Gadda-Da-Leela," where she interacts with both Nixon and Zapp), I wouldn't count on it.

It really wasn't.  It was easily one of the worst this season.  Well in my opinion at least.  Clamps is a one note character and he just isn't funny enough to hold up an episode.

Eh, I'm with SpaceGoldfish; it certainly wasn't the strongest episode of 6B. (Then again, the only other episodes I can think of from 6B that were on-par with "The Prisoner of Benda," which I think won the WGA last year, are "Cold Warriors" and "Reincarnation." The season as a whole wasn't all that strong, in my opinion.)

But Eric Rogers seems like a really cool guy and a good writer, and he's definitely passionate about the show and his work. I hope he wins.

Isn't it sort of the fan's prerogative to determine which episodes are good and which are bad? It's not like "good" is synonymous with "award-worthy." Like, I really enjoyed "Yo Leela Leela," but I don't think it is an objectively awesome episode, and it's surely not going to be winning any awards. My reasons for liking it--much like my reasons for disliking "The Silence of the Clamps"--are idiosyncratic and probably a bit unfair. But oh well. I still love Futurama and want it to win a lot of awards. It's just that my personal favorite episodes are probably not, like, the staff's personal favorites--or the Writer's Guild's, for that matter. And I think that's fine.

6A & 6B both had great eps and shit eps...

The Silence of the Clamps wasn't in either category though...

All the same, good luck to Eric Rogers!...
