It may be worth pointing out that I found the anime segment to be among the funniest moments of the series, and I have never seen a single anime before.

I also found the video game segment to be the worst, despite playing them on a constant basis.

That might be the case.  I used to be a big fan of anime, so maybe that's why I didn't enjoy the segment so much, since it didn't really feel like an anime parody, just a bunch of things people think all anime has.

When I heard they switched the game and anime segments I flipped out.  They passed up on the brilliant "Series Over: Insert Coin" bit just because the anime segment was "received better?" What a mistake.  The anime segment, while fun, doesn't mean anything.  There's no subtext other than: look how silly anime can be!  The game segment was relevant (with the particle physics) and it had a cool ending message about the search for knowledge being a never ending endeavor, which fit nicely with the possible ending of the series.  It felt like Futurama.  The anime segment didn't, and just ended on a flat note.

I disagree.

If it truly was the last episode, then "Another threat is surely to arrive next week at the same time" would have been fitting. Annoying and somewhat sad, but fitting nonetheless.

I feel like I'm the only one who liked the fleischer style one the best.  :hmpf:

Second. Deffo the best of the 3 segments for me.

I can't believe this episode has less 10s than the crapfest that was Overclockwise. This was probably the best post-cancellation episode yet. It was pretty good. I liked the middle segment a lot but I think the 3rd might be my favourite.

9/10

Reincarnation is my favorite episode. Period.

Glad to hear that you're enjoying the later episodes of Season 6 Bianca! (Excluding some stinkers).

Now's about time to watch some Season 7 stuff, I think you may like some of it. (Decision 3012, Zapp Dingbat, The Six Million Dollar Mon, Fun on a Bun, etc)

Don't count on it.

You're probably right there. He/She sh**s on every episode that I thought was pretty good. (Except for this and Fry Am The Eggman, surprisingly.) But I would like to see a change of opinion though.

This is one of my favorite episodes of the season. My favorite section is the anime one because of the perfect way it pokes fun at various things in anime like the dialogue and animation. I also enjoyed it because I'm a big anime fan. As for the other sections, I enjoyed the first one a lot. My favorite part was the montage of Fry trying to break the piece off of the comet. Now when it comes to the second part, it was my least favorite. I did enjoy the various game references (my favorite being the Dig Dug one). The reason I didn't like this section as much is because with the anime section and black and white section is that there's certain dialogue that fits with the animation. However, with this section, there's really no specific dialogue that would go with the old school game animation since there's really not a whole lot of dialogue in those games so the dialogue didn't work too well in my opinion. I don't know if that makes any sense, stuff I say often doesn't.

With that being said, I'd give this episode a 9/10. In my opinion, a great end to the season.

There is clearly no justice in the world, I agree that this ep is far better and much more fun. All segments are brilliant. Having said that I originally only gave this an 8. I might have changed my opinion now and perhaps it's worth a little more. It's certainly far better than Overclockwise that's for sure!...

This is such a good episode. I don't know if DVDs get worn out the way cassette tapes do, but if so, it'll be because we watch this one way too much. I like the second segment quite a bit because it makes good jokes at the expense of research. There's so little humor to be found in the dry world of fundamental research that I have to profit from it when I can! I posted under the "Favorite Farnsworth Quotations" thread about how much I like the "dump trucks of flaming grant money" line. All that said, my favorite segment is the first one. There was a recent RadioLab broadcast about colors and what the human eye could see contrasted with what other species see and so it was great that the rainbow was in black and white. My husband, however, likes the anime segment best. I think he about lost it when Fry's grand entrance is just him flopped out on the couch.

Watching this for the third time since it aired, and just noticed Nibbler as Sweet Pea!  Then found SpachFish's comment on page two of this thread :P
