So homerjaysimpson made me realise there's been like a montage in every ep in Season 6B so far, so, what music would you like to:

See in your own made up montage?
Replace with music already in an existing montage?

I'd like to see this and possibly this. Not sure what scenes though. :hmpf:

I have a few songs I like, but I suppose I've left out a lot of my favorites because I can't figure out how they'd fit into an episode.  Bah.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZGcNx8nV8U
This would be good for a Fry/Leela episode.  I think Futurama could pull of a romantic montage without it being treacly.  Bender's montages with the Countess, Angelyne and the ship all managed to be both sweet and funny.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uM22CMWXY6Q
Would work when Leela is beating the stuffing out of some naughty aliens.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfk8kLJMab0
I think this would work in an Amy episode.  Maybe we see "little cutie" deliberately downplaying her intelligence due to self esteem?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bhoXyFwV4Q
You know the Planet Express crew saving the earth to this theme would be awesome. Maybe start with the crew beating up some people on the ground, andn then culminating into a space battle with lots of lasers going PEWPEWPEWPEWPEW and evil ships going BWOOOOM and then a bit of the crew eating pancakes and they're all NOMNOMNOMNOMNOM.

I really like that first one SpaceGoldfish, great choice. I would be really happy if they used that for a Fry/Leela moment. :)

Have they used any snippeta of this song yet? I can't pinpoint a scene where they have, but I think a 10 sec or so bit of it would be cute for Fry/Leela. I was actually looking for the lyrics version but this came up first.

www.youtube.com/watch?gl=US&hl=en&client=mv-google&v=17ysGqMocbw

Ok here's the one I was looking for. Yeah I like this one better. Please Please Please by the Smiths:

www.youtube.com/watch?gl=US&hl=en&client=mv-google&v=PFZ7326-9k0

Lol, so if you read the location in the beginning...that's actually the city where I live. We don't have an amphitheater here now though... :O_o: There is one like 10 min from here though.

I really like those!

One thing I really would like to see in a Fry/Leela episode is this.  Or it might play in a Kif/Amy episode (when it looks like the couple are due to be seprated for a long time, so the two of them might puruse their photographs and memorbelia of eachother, and memories too.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHcunREYzNY  It might be too similar to the one played during the end of Jurassic Bark though.

This would be completely ripping off a series called Jiz and the Mammograms on Youtube, but they used this song EXTREMELY well in a flashback.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xiL3Kse0Sk

Have they used anything by Simon and Garfunkel?   Mrs Robinson in Futurama?  Yes please.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_jmDscGi7E   Maybe Bender hooks up with an older, attractive fembot, or maybe woos the Crushinator (whose now a single mother) again?

Also, how about some Jefferson Airplane?  I was thrilled when they used NOthings Gonna Stop us now, which is one of my favorite songs of all time.   If they ever do the Alice in Wonderland spoof I would dearly love to see, they need to use some White Rabbit.

Also, how about some classical music?  I think they really need to do a segment to Jupiter from the Planets.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz0b4STz1lo

Also, if they ever do a segment that makes fun of fantasy again, I think this would totally work, especially if it was making fun of fantasy themed video games like Zelda or Final Fantasy or the Tales series (Futurama always does a great mix of fairly obvious things to parody to ones that are extremely obscure.)  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JElzxzC9SNQ  I can imagine our merrie band donning traditional adventuring garb and slaughtering the wildlife with swords and magic.

All good choices of montage

White Rabbit would be a good montage song but I think that its moment was in "Hell Is Other Robots" when Bender try's out electricity abuse and it gets all trippy for a minute but an "Alice In Wonderland" episode would be interesting if done well.

My top montage choices are the standards
You're The Best - Joe "Bean" Esposito (best montage song ever/my theme song)
  -Bender moment

The Final Countdown - Europe, is probably the most future relevant montage song
   -Package delivery moment

All Out Of Love - Air Supply
   -Any romantic downer moment

Also some Pantera would do good during a Santa episode

One of my favorite themes:

Fitting for Space Battles. Also, I would enjoy a pirate-themde Episode.

This great theme already served Mr. Burns well, so it most certainly could also be used in Futurama:

Hmm I'll have to watch that episode again but still I believe it is the best montage around and no other montage can keep it down.
Also season 3 montage is better than the current seasons montage's that have been getting thrown into almost every episode.

Some montages were great, they really worked (TTOTZ), but some felt really lame, e.g. boring scenes within them. (Benderama springs to mind, and possibly FATEM)

I feel like this could make a cute montage. Maybe it is not quite like the sort of music they normally use, but it's still viable.

Actually, that totally sounds like something Futurama would use. Not in the Original Run, but now they would. Why? Because it reminds me of the song in "Fry Am the Egg Man". :p

THIS would have been the only legitimate song :)

[edit by futurefreak: rule of thumb is, if a similar pre-existing thread will not hit 20 pages in the forseeable future, just bump that one instead.]

I made this topic about what music you'd think would suit a montage on the show, but how about for scenes in general, like dance scenes, etc, like how they put the Black Eyed Peas in The Mutants are Revolting.

A lot of the music I like simply wouldn't fit into the show. Prodigy for example, it worked in The Matrix, so maybe in a night club scene. I'd like to think it could work, but I just don't know if it would :hmpf:...

It's funny, even though I generally hate 80's pop music, it seems to work well in the show, dunno why. One the few 80's pop music songs I really like is Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls, so maybe that could work in a Futurama montage. It's the best I can think of right now...

I'd be really happy if they ever used a song by David Bowie - and it's not like his stuff wouldn't fit right in with all its space-y themes.

But I'd also be incredibly happy if they ever used a song by Electric Six - especially one that wasn't Gay Bar or Danger! High Voltage. They're my favourite band and I think they're criminally under-rated. Down at McDonnelzzz could work well, or the chorus to The Intergalactic Version which is almost like it was scored to fit into a happy montage of something.

Already been done. See "A Big Piece of Garbage" during the credits.

I always thought that Futurama would use Zager and Evans' "In the Year 2525", I just didn't know how they could use it. They did use it in "The Late Philip J. Fry" and made their own version. If Futurama had a soundtrack, that piece would be on it for sure.

Speaking of songs about the future, the only other one I can think of would be "We Didn't Start the Fire", but the lyrics would most likely need some editing to make it fit with Futurama. They also spoofed it in the Simpsons clip show episode "Gump Roast" with the song "They'll Never Stop the Simpsons".

I've mentioned this once or twice, but Priscilla Ahn's "Dream" just seems like the perfect song for an emotional Futurama montage. It has a very airy quality much like how "Little Bird" was, and it is sung by an Asian chick much like "Baby Love Child". I have this great idea for a Futurama epic in my head that I've been developing for seven or eight years that this song would go perfect with. And in my head, it makes the epic even more tear-jerking.

I probably got more, but you go ahead. I really only submitted my best ideas.

I can't remember the montage in "The Tip of the Zoidberg". I can't imagine it being a song with words, though.

"Neutopia" had a great montage. Classic rock, yeah!

I hate the music played over the Benderama montage. The montage itself was decently funny, but the music just seemed out-of-place for Futurama. I'm still on the fence for what I think about "Fry Am the Egg Man"'s first montage. It does seem out-of-place for Futurama.
