See what I did there?  :flirt:

What situations would you like to see the crew in if there was another Anthology of Interest episode?

What if technology had never advanced?
What if Yancy (Fry Jr.) froze instead of Fry?
What if the crew had never met?

Sorry if thread already exists.

I really like the second one a lot, and the first one would be quite interesting too.  You could also play with that idea, by making the year 3000 a post apocalpytic society with the New New Yorkers struggling to survive in a scavenger world.

I have had some ideas:

What if Earth had a steampunk society?
What if a Fry and Leela got married and had kids?  (How many eyes would the kids have?)
What if Zoidberg, Amy and Hermes were the three main characters? (Delivery crew, since Futurama doesn't really deal with breaking the fourth wall)
What if this particular device was invented (vauge I know, but the device in question turns into a galactic Alice in Wonderland parody, with Leela and Amy as Alice)
What if the entire universe was made of candy?
What if Bender really did kill all humans and established a robot society (I think Bender should go the whole hog and exterimate pretty much all organic life on earth, maybe the universe.  Bender may say kill all humans, but he doesn't seem to have much regard for any of the alien species either)

- Someone asking "What if we were a TV series?" (not the characters being just actors, a TV series about Planet Express, of course...)
- An episode with Leela chasing after Fry to no avail...(think of a suitable question yourself;))

As I've stated in other threads, I love the steampunk idea. I also love the idea about Zoidberg, Amy and Hermes as the delivery crew.

Also:
What if Bender wasn't great at all and he were actually some sort of nerdy loser?
What if the crew had all lived in Fry's time period?

what if erth was destroyed while the PE crew was on a mission? how would humanity look on the universal scale after such an event?

What if The Professor become a baby?
How would the crew cope with him?
What if Fry was intelligent?
How the crew cope with him?
What if Zoidberg become an atrractive human?
How could the women within the crew cope with him?

I see a pattern emerging...  :shifty:

remember, Beanoz, time is a circle and after the end of the universe it starts again, that would make it possible that Fry was frozen till after 1900, technically.
But considering that all of the universe was destroyed, Fry would have been destroyed too.

It is as much as The Holiday Spectacular was an Anthology of Interest.

It'll be 3 non-canon stories, but it's not an Anthology of Interest because it doesn't include the What If Machine. From what I understand, the wrap-around is the God Entity creating all these alternate versions of the world.

Eric Rogers said the possibility of another AOI is a 'solid maybe'. I think Aki asked him. :)

the time machine can survive, but a cryogenic chamber obviously cannot. question: obsolete.

The time machine was build as a whole to travel through time, thus it had to move outside of time to do that.
The cryogenic chamber on the other hand just freezes its content. It does not travel through time at all.

Yancy freezing would be a lot of fun. I think if there is another AOI, one of the scenes should deal with something related to cryogenics.

Futurama is already sort offf like that because it borrows heavily from pulpy sci fi novels from the sixties and raygun gothic, but at the same time, that art style would be really interesting.
Plus the optimism people had for the future in the 50s was pretty refreshing.  Now we just worry when the flesh eating cyborgs will hack into the internet and murder us all.

They could travel to a futuristic 70s universe, where everything is orange and brown, and everyone plants lava lamp trees.

The Anthology of Interest episodes were fun because they were able to explore things, which were impossible in the context of the show.  Now NOTHING is impossible within the context of the show.

The characters all dying and murdering eachother is pretty impossible.  I do agree though, some of the characters are getting flanderized.  One of the reasons you couldn't have Leela murder all the characters would because it would be a moral event horizon for her and make her too unlikable (as the murdered body of Amy's dead deceased corpse can be testiment too), but now....

Bender tries to kill Fry, his best friend, out of nothing more then pure spite.  While Bender has treated Fry awfully before, that was just going too far.

Past, future hmmm.  Considering that civilization has that funny habit of collapsing back into the medieval era, going back and forwards seem to be interchangable.

I wouldn't mind an episode if the ladies of fifty million came back for a visit.  They do have backwards time travel after all.  They might come back for some sightseeing, laugh at primitive and barbaric 31st century technology, party with some male strippers and then go home.
