Hokay, this should be fun for a coupla' pages. If you were to associate with an uncivilised individual who does not watch Futurama, and slobbers over The Simpsons, you might point out similarities to encourage them to watch.

Bender is like Homer, except: He is a robot, he isn't stupid, he is a thief, he drinks to stay sober, he is funnier... basically they are almost totally different.

Since nobody else is willing thus far, i vote "except he's a robot". If they don't watch Futurama then I will assume they are this-><-close to being braindead, so I will explain that Bender is a robot. I think thats pretty important... next would have been that Bender is far more cunning. I think they drink about the same amount... and then that he isn't married, but I think that is pretty obvious if you know that he is a robot at least...

Bender's not as dumb as Homer. Nope, not the current Homer anyway. And if the option was there, I would've voted 'he doesn't cry and squeal constanly when upset'. Bender knows how to make more clever schemes. Besides, Homer's crayon-filled brain is no match for his mighty robo-logic!

I think Bender is a little bit like Bart. He takes risks and gets away with what he does (most of the time) But Bender is way more mischievious and cunning than Bart

Yeah I guess he is like Bart, and in a way more so than Homer. I guess most people get drawn in to comparing him with Homer because they are the most popular characters from each show. He's combines the best elements of both, and adds originality too

I don't think anyone on Futurama is "like" anyone on ANY other show, much less the Simpsons.  Sure, they may share a few characteristics, and fulfill some of the same roles, but they are far from being "like" any one other character.  Like I said earlier, if I was to compare Bender's character according to Simpsons characters, I'd describe him as a mix of Homer, Bart, Barney, and Snake.  But then again, you could also point out similarities between Bender and Quark.

I agree with the he's more like Bart submitters. He say's bite my shinning metal ass and Bart say's eat my shorts which Bender has actually done, he did say mmm shorts but that was only a one time thing.
