I don't get why everyone hates Holiday Craptacular so much.  It wasn't very good but it wasn;t awful.  The first and third plots were kind of meh and the good lyrics of the songs were lost in drones that had no beats or melodies (proof that funny lyrics cannot save a lack of musical ability)

Personally I thought the Robonnakah segment more then made up for the other two.

This is a good point; I loved the Robonnakah story. But the other two segments just seemed so lazy to me, and mostly unfunny, and I hated the Kwanzaa segment for how it dumped on "The Sting." It's not an awful episode, and I didn't exactly have high expectations for it before it aired--but it's certainly among the weakest episodes of season six.

And wasn't "The Cure for the Common Clod" written by Patric Verrone? I think that helps explain why it's among the best of the comics.

Its a shame that it gets lumped in with the other two, isn't it?  It felt like a great AOI segment.  It's like an ice cream sandwich, but the cookies are a bit stale and don't hae any chocolate chips.

God why can't we have Good Humour cookie ice cream sandwiches in London?  It's what happiness tastes like.

Aside from humour though, don't you agree that it was better written from a story/resolution point of view? :hmpf:...

I don't think they're really comparible seeing as Holiday Craptacular is quickfire, non-canon stories, it doesn't really have the same story/resolution criteria so to speak.

Personally, I found the comic to be somewhat meandering and a bit 'obvious' at times.

Fair enough. Once I’ve seen Cold Warriors I think I might give it a re-read. I haven’t read it in years!...

Yes, forget Phish Food.

It's popular for a reason, it's bloody delicious! I do buy other flavours. Other favourites of mine in order from most favourite are Caramel Chew Chew, Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Baked Alaska, and Chunky Monkey...

I tried S'mores flavour in America, but it was disappointing :hmpf:...

I don't really like chocolate ice cream that much (too bitter).  I like vanilla flavored ones much more.  That's why cookie dough makes me smile and half baked always leaves me a big disappointed.
Caramel chew chew and cookie dough were my favorites.  Peace of cake is nice but a bit underwhelming if they still do it.

No discussion of Futurama Ben and Jerry's is complete without a mention of Chunky Monkey. Good god, people, don't forget the classics! Oh, wait, Otis mentioned it up-thread. Never mind, folks, carry on.

And, to make this post slightly on-topic, I am eagerly awaiting a clip from "Cold Warriors" to go up on Comedy Central's website. They're very inconsistent about which day the clip is available; last week it was the Friday after the new episode aired--and this week, not so much.

Do Ben and Jerry's still sell Triple Caramel Chunk? That was always my favorite. There was one a block away from my middle school and I'd go all the time but I haven't been there for two and a half years.

So excited for anything related to Cold Warriors. Aaah, I hope this one doesn't disappoint.

I wish Bohemian Raspberry was more readily available -if they even still sell it. I always loved that one.

But Half Baked is probably my favourite flavour, followed closely by Cookie Dough.

Best off-topic discussion, ever.

I've never even heard of Bohemian Raspberry, but it sounds intriguing. And Half-Baked is delicious--as is Pistachio Pistachio (even if the name is a bit redundantly redundant).

I was actually thrilled to discover that there's a Ben and Jerry's at a casino downtown; the prices are ridiculous, but the selection is much larger than what's to be found at the local grocery stores. I need a scorecard of some sort, I think, so that I can mark off each new flavor that I try, as I try it. Ice cream tasting is the sport of kings.

anyone else excited for this plot?: We will discover that Professor Farnsworth's parents are still alive and living in the Near-Death Star.

also, Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream is delicious. if any of you ever visit new new england, their place in VT is a great way to spend a few hours.

This is one of the more intriguing episode plots, probably the one I'm most looking forward to of the ones I know about in Season 7. Given how much I loved the Near Death Star in A Clone of My Own, the thought of them going back there, especially for the Professors parents seems incredibly awesome. His parents better not suck as characters though :shifty:...

And the callbacks better not be done horribly and unsubtly. I loved Abner Doubledeal's reappearance in "Yo Leela Leela," for example--but some of the more obvious, sloppy callbacks to previous plot points, characters, and episodes have grated on me.

Yeah I'm pretty excited for this plot line, but I hope its done well.  Does this mean the Professor has physically aged past them, if he's been outside the NDS for ten years?

Also I agree with Gorky.  I lvoe callbacks and reappearances, but only if they are done well like the example she gave.  Or Hermaphrobot's reappearance in PI:
"Can I get an amen?"
"I'll take a three men.  HOLLA."

It should be neat seeing the Near Death Star again. That was a good episode and I hope this upcoming one does it justice, instead of killing it in the most horrible fashion imaginable.

Found these in the Promotional Pictures section of the Infopshere, both from Overclockwise:

Looks sweeeeet! Notice that Bender appears to be 'plugged in' to something on the second image. :D And I think I can explain the second image too, someone put a Chicken in the microwave and Zoidberg has opened it up and tried to eat it, falling out in the process and being caught red-handed, or he continued to eat it while being burnt alive and someone (possibly Bender) had to get him out.

Well we've seen that a microwave and a supernova has the ability to rip apart space time and send you back to the fifties, so maybe a microwave ends up fusing Bender with the fabric of the universe?

And Zoidberg, I know your species doesn't have teeth (I think, the show keeps switching between them having teeth and not having teeth) but chew your goddam food.
