A bunch of miscellaneous Futurama articles:

Futurama 6.14 Neutopia
Quote
No show can be expected to hit a home run every time out. And this isn't the worst "Futurama" episode of all time. It's just one of the worst in recent memory. The first half of the sixth season did give us a few instant classics like "The Late Philip J. Fry," so I still have faith that the creative team can deliver.

But "Neutopia" might be proof that even the greatest shows eventually start to decline.

Futurama Review: The New New Yorkers Are Still Funny
Quote
In any case Futurama can comment all it wants because it continues to entertain and deliver the storylines that keep me glued. Fans can also rejoice as the show will continuously air through the summer, so be ready for a new episode every week! Or at least that’s what David X. Cohen says

'Futurama' Goes on a Bender in New Season
Quote
The third [segment], which re-imagines the story as Japanese anime, "was so good, we said we should just do the show that way from now on," Groening said.

Futurama, the Sci-Fi Toon That Wouldn't Die
Quote
Capitalizing on the misfortune of other shows, and their bloated networks, isn’t the only way Futurama has had the last laugh. It has also capitalized on the diverse funding opportunities that have arisen in the wake of the once-monolithic entertainment industry’s collapse. Where it once had to strictly rely on Fox for funding, it has since shown that it can create revenue streams from a variety of sources. And thanks to its consistently geeked fan base, it has market share to spare.

Futurama’s Writers Reveal Six Hidden Jokes You Probably Missed
Quote
Their fascination with presidents goes far beyond the occasional head joke. "It’s a constant inspiration for us, with the toys lying around. We even have a big competition at lunchtime where the presidents battle each other in hand-to-hand combat, which we base on their estimated physical strength on their day of inauguration – although Nixon went through several rounds not because he was fit, but because we thought he would fight dirty or have a knife hidden in his sock. We spend a lot of time talking about things like this for no good reason.”

Thanks for the links. I got excited about the last one, but I was disappointed. They have stuff like Nibbler's shadow and the Turangas appearing in I Second That Emotion. Ofcourse for a less than hardcore fan that must be pretty big news.

Neutopia is written by J. Stewart Burns

Didn't he write some of the best eps for futurama?

He wrote "My Three Suns" and "Roswell That Ends Well"...but he's also responsible for "The Cryonic Woman" and "Where the Buggalo Roam." So it's still kind of crapshoot.

That said, it's nice to see some of the older writers coming back--even if it turns out that he's only working as a freelancer, like Lew Morton last season.

Let me Infosphere that for you:
"My Three Suns" (1ACV07)
"Mars University" (1ACV11)
"A Head in the Polls" (2ACV03)
"The Deep South" (2ACV12)
"The Cryonic Woman" (2ACV19)
"Where the Buggalo Roam" (3ACV10)
"Roswell that Ends Well" (3ACV19)
And the "lost episode" known as the video game.

I would wager that he's written two of the universally-accepted worst episodes of the series, a few meh to good episodes, and the best episode. In short: no clue how good Neutopia will be.

Also of note is that Aaron Ehasz wrote Benderama. Here are his other credits for Futurama:
"Future Stock" (3ACV21)
"Crimes of the Hot" (4ACV08)
Makes Benderama more promising in my opinion.

Pfft, you had to use the Infosphere? Amateur.

And I'll just copy-paste my feelings about J. Stewart Burns's return to Aaron Ehasz--I'd much rather they bring in former writers as freelancers than, say, Carolyn Premish or whoever.

Okay, first thing's first. The moment a working online streaming link works for both Neutopia and Benderama I must know!!! I've been searching the grand interwebs for the past hour for one since neither Futurama stream and Letmewatchthis have it yet! What is a lil Aussie girl to do? :(

If my memory serves any links to illegal sites (torrent, streaming, what have you) will be deleted immediately. If you want those sites, go somewhere else, not PEEL.

Indeed. But a note to Imy: the episodes don't air for another 2 hours.

Sorry, I'll keep that in mind from here on. Any legal ways of me viewing the episodes? Oddly enough I'm able to view Comedy Central video content here in Australia so would they by any chance put the full length episodes on their site after airing?

I'm not sure whether or not they'll stream the episode after it airs, but the legal means I would keep an eye on are:
  • Comedy Central
  • Hulu
  • Amazon
  • iTunes

I believe that iTunes had the season for sale following airing last season (correct me if I'm wrong), but unsure whether you'd have access in Australia. There are illegal means, of course, but we just can't discuss them here. PEEL exists and has legitimacy by not sharing illegal means of acquiring episodes.

I bought a few episodes off iTunes last season; they were normally up by, like, six o'clock on Friday morning my time (eastern standard, for any stalkers in the audience) for two bucks each. If that doesn't work, Comedy Central is probably your best bet (Hulu will link you back there, anyway), and at least that way you won't have to pay for the episodes.

Though, checking it out now, it looks like you're only able to watch those five episodes that Comedy Central chooses to put up each week (that is, episodes from previous seasons).

Thank you i_c_weiner :) My best bet would be Amazon I think... I've never heard of Hulu, but it's good to know that's an option.

So, based on the itty bitty preview Comedy Central showed at the end of "Benderama," next week's episode is "Ghosts in the Machine" (I'm sure this is common knowledge, but for some reason I don't have the best handle on what the schedule is this season; a visit to the Infosphere would probably remedy that). Here's hoping they put a longer preview clip up on the website, like they did last season.

Infosphere's current order of remaining episodes with a known air date, plus best guesses for final 5 episodes:

6ACV19 Ghost in the Machines (June 30)
6ACV16 Law & Oracle (July 7)
6ACV14 The Silence of the Clamps (July 14)
6ACV21 Yo Leela Leela (July 21)
6ACV23 All the Presidents' Heads (July 28)
6ACV15 Mobius Dick (Aug 4)

6ACV18 The Tip of the Zoidberg (Aug 11 or 18 or 25)
6ACV22 Fry Am the Egg Man (Aug 11 or 18 or 25)
6ACV24 Cold Warriors (Aug 11 or 18 or 25)
6ACV25 Overclockwise (Sep 2?)
6ACV26 Reincarnation (Sep 9?)

I think it's a pretty safe bet to say that Overclockwise and Reincarnation will be the last 2 episodes (in that order), too based on how they were designed as a finale and keep being referred to as such in interviews and promotional material.

It's kind-of considered as a sequel or follow up to Lethal Inspection, regarding Bender's mortality. ;)
