This time last year, CC showed a commercial for the new Futurama during Ugly Americans.  Why haven't they done it this year?  Also, is there any new information or pictures of the new season, besides Neotopia?

I know right, just put up some more random clips of new season on the air please Comedy Central.

What's worse is that Fox, will take down any fan made trailers of the new season.

But never fear, us true Futurama fan don't need advertisement.

There isn't really any advertisement of the new DVDs either.

It's probably not as big of a deal this time. Last year it was the return of futurama from the dead, with an episode where the characters literally come back to life. They'll probably wait till a few weeks before to start advertising for it.

about new information, there's a sneak peek scene from "silence of the clamps" on the season 6 dvd. luise made a youtube recording of that (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdVH1j-9Qyg).

Hahah, that was pretty cool, I am looking forward to that one. Any episode with the robot mafia is pretty enticing.

Exactly. It was a bigger deal last year because Futurama was returning from the dead. This year, it's returning for part 2 of last year's season. They'll advertise it, but it won't get the huge push it got last year.

3 months is a long time for regular viewers to bother to remember. Heck, average attention span is about 5 minutes. It would just confuse and enrage them. Not that us super fans don't love the little preview tidbits.

Maybe they'll do it when the season for South Park starts up..which isn't until April.

Well, looking at southparks schedule, the mid-season finale is about two weeks before the futurama season premiere. this time, southpark has been delayed somewhat because the creators have been working on the book of mormon musical so much lately.

I'd say they'll start advertising for futurama a few weeks before the premiere, and really ramp it up after southpark is out of the way.

Good to know.  Usually South Park's new season starts in mid-March.   Maybe around the time the mid-season finale of SP comes, then the advertising of the new Futurama will come.

On a completely different note, the last time Matt and Trey signed a contract to continue the show was in 2006-ish, and it runs out after the 15th Season, so if they don't sign another, this will be the last season of SP.  :(

South Park isn't going to end any time soon.

Comedy Central will do all that they can to keep it going, it's their flagship show and is still hugely successful. Trey and Matt have spoken a lot about going off to make films and realising that they miss "their show" because it's like being home for them and feeling like they just want to go back to making South Park. I've seen nothing to indicate that they're getting tired of it or want to move on yet.

And they've said many a time that they want to make a second South Park movie after the show ends anyway, so we'd have that to look forwards to if they did end the show.
